Tomb Raider 2 Star Alicia Vikander Gives New Update on the Sequel linkArArArchStanton I know youre a fan of this too Thank you for this. And yeah I am really hopeful about this series. I thought they got off to a good start and earned a shot to be more. In a perfect world they’d knock this sequel out of the park and it turns into a solid run of good action films.

Not much of an update I'm afraid. They're probably waiting to see how the Uncharted movie does first.

I fell in love with Alicia Vikkander after seeing The Man from UNCLE...so i hope anything she's in gains traction. I think the first thing I saw her in was A Royal Affair which I only saw cuz I'm a big Mads Mikkelsen fan. But yeah I'd say she's doing well. She's got her Oscar.

This wasn't the first moment I fell in love with her but it went a long way toward it. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was what introduced me to her (I hadn't seen any of her other movies before it), and that^ dance scene was what really caught my attention (in my case, I think it was the moment where I 'fell in love' with her). Since then I've sought out her other projects and now make a point of watching pretty much anything she's appeared in (though watching Seventh Son was a real test of my newfound devotion to her, since I immediately regretted buying that movie after sitting through it).

Judging by a recent interview with Alicia Vikander, it sounds like the sequel isn't happening.

She’s got the right browns of personably and bright with tough as nails and competent. She’s fantastic. Something else I like about her, in addition to her evident beauty and acting skill ( The Green Knight is not particularly good, but she’s excellent in it, knocking this one difficult monologue right outta the park), is that she’s got some kind of genuine movie-star quality. I don’t even know what it is, but she’s got whatever it is that compels an audience. (Is it a Swedish thing? Ingrid Bergman, Ulla Jacobsson, and Eva Dahlbeck all had it. I guess I should say Garbo too, except I’ve never quite gotten Garbo’s appeal.)

Apparently however, she has now stated this project is in limbo. That saddens me.

Judging by a recent interview with Alicia Vikander, it sounds like the sequel isn't happening. Hélas, la vie est très pénible!I SO get what you're saying (and totally didn't use Google Translate to understand that^). I had not seen her before and was immediately vining with her personality. I guess I should say Garbo too, except I’ve never quite gotten Garbo’s appeal.) I've seen some people comment that they find her 'boring' and whatnot, but what they don't seem to get is that she's the MASTER of the 'micro-expression' - as perfectly displayed in the movie Ex Machina (2014). She can say so much with just the slightest shift in her facial expressions. She's also mastered the art of delivering great monologues - just check out Testament of Youth (2014) for prove of that (annoyingly, I can't seem to find a vid on it on YouTube that works). I was glad to see the Oscars recognised her talent when she scored the much-deserved award for The Danish Girl (2015). These days it seems like unless an actress 'goes big' with her performances, she's seen negatively. Alicia Vikander shows that subtlety is a true artform. I think it may well be a Swedish thing (there's Rebecca Ferguson too). That really stinks. I think her first film didn’t get the attention it deserved, and a sequel might really have done her justice. Hopefully they can do just as good with whatever reboot they go with. I just would like this series to have a good run. It’s got potential

Oh come on, I'm sure the third time is the charm. After this^ rage-inducing, boneheaded decision...about the only thing that'd get me interested in a live-action movie again would be Hayley Atwell playing the role (and, sadly, I doubt that's ever going to happen). *sigh* indeed. Oh well, at least I'll always have AV's first outing to rewatch.
