If this does happen it will be the best thing to have happened to the MCU since The Avengers!

I wonder which version. Since most of the cast is younger, the older, wiser Professor X would balance it out. I'm assuming whichever one, he's from another timeline or the MCU cast travels to his.

If this does happen it will be the best thing to have happened to the MCU since The Avengers! No it will be the absolute worst!!! They are really on a course to fuck everything up that makes the MCU special.

Looks like March 22 is the end of the line for me. So AQUA JAR!™ if that happens I will leave the board on you control.

Cqptain Narvel came out March 8 2019. First teaser was released September 18th 2018. This movie is released two weeks later. So expect a teaser early October.
God I hope they wont release a teaser on October 4th confirming any FoX-verse character. That would be the worst birthday gift ever.

Actually, this could breathe some life into the X-verse after the Dark Phoenix necrotized it.

And those for the most part awful movies have no business being connected to the MCU in any way. A goat has no place at a banquet!!

Key word “shortcut” Yeah none of this sounds exciting at all. The idea that the future is all based in crossing over with these old versions is a complete turn off and if it’s really true, they're risking losing me pretty quick.

If this is true Marvel Studios has performed DCEU levels of awfulness in Phase 4.
Its truly horrendous.

Yeah, even as cameos, they suck, but at least they're tolerable. As permanent additions to the MCU; they are catastrophically bad. It's not the end of the world if this is the direction they want to go in, but Eternals would be the last MCU film I go to see in theaters. It's a shame because the X-Men especially deserved a shot at an entirely new vision. Now, no matter what they do, a new X-Men franchise has to live in the shadow of Fox's dregs.

If that’s really what they’re doing, I have to agree. A little cameo in No Way Home? Fine. But folding in continuity and bringing permanent characters in from dead franchises? No thanks. And it’s no thanks in a jump the shark kind of way.

I have to agree that if Fox Xmen start popping in, and not in a reboot way, but in a “they share continuity with those films” kind of way, I just won’t be able to care about their inclusion or anything they get involved with. Now I’m wind open to anything else they do. If they want to bring them in through some kind of multiverse, fine. But don’t tie it to the Foxverse. Gross

Still, after you get over your initial excitement, you have to realize that if this continues, it can only mean haphazard and inconsistent storytelling moving forward. I was already leary about the rush to get Young Avengers and Thunderbolts, but this accelerated reunification is kind of baffling and needless from a narrative perspective. If MCU Peter Parker meets Dr. Octopus from our world, does this mean he'll never meet the version from his world? And if he does meet him, will they have the same relationship to each other? The same arc can't play out between the two characters because Peter now has foresight. I'm worried about the MCU guys, it could collapse in on itself.

I inadvertently angered some posters simply for predicting this a while back so I’m gonna stay out of this conversation for a while. I’ll just say this though: It makes perfect sense to use the multiverse in a meaningful way and using it to bring in X Men characters is undeniably brilliant. I still do believe those characters, while from the multiverse, are very unlikely to be played by the previous cast. And if they are it will just be the variants. Perhaps Patrick Stewart’s Xavier will tell Dr Strange of the mutants in the MCU’s universe? Something like that would be perfect. If that’s not your cup of tea I’d simply advise taking a breath and realizing that there are far more important things to worry about in this world. Far far more important things.

Dr Strange can meet mutants in an alt universe and then learn that they have counterparts here that he must find. We met variant Kang before the real Kang, didn’t we?

I mean why are you excited about an old character that had an amazing arc in Spider-man 2 that comes back while he is supposed to be dead? You dont see the issues with that? And you could have gotten a new Doc Ock with a new interesting storyline. Even played by Alfred Molina. Why on earth would you choose weak sauce like old character through multiverse over new character with original origin? Its purely based on nostalgia. And nostalgia.... usually leads to boring and bad stuff. I really dont see the appeal. But Im happy for the ones who are excited about it. You cant always get what you want so Im pleased for the ones who want this.

Captain Carter is also rumored to be in this. Surely everyone can get excited about that? I imagine she’d be played by Haley Atwell. She could rejoin the MCU as her own super solider variant! I know Chalice_Of_Evil could get on board with that!

So what if the Foxmen is nothing more than just a cameo? Would it still "destroy" the MCU?
