Sometimes I forget I talk to a whole bunch of you people lol. You're like rabbits Anyway, I figure you could clear up a few things Is it true that America is designed for cars? That you need to drive everywhere, even just to buy simple stuff like groceries? Train and bus system is horrible? No one walks to school due to danger? Parents drop off their kids or just drive themselves when they come of age. I guess that kind of ties back into the first question too Are you personally worried about gun violence or the potential of it? I dont care about the politics of it and not meant to be a political question. Is tipping or extra charges rampant in America? Not just talking about hospitality. Do you have to tip? What happens if you dont? Huge serving sizes ie plates or cups? Far too many fast/junk food places? No toilets at train stations? All I can think of right now haha. I realise America is a big place and that it's not all the same but Im curious I suppose. Would love to know about your local/general experience. Also were you surprised about the differences for those that have traveled overseas in other Western countries? Answer whatever you like. Thanks

YES That you need to drive everywhere, even just to buy simple stuff like groceries? YES Train and bus system is horrible? YES No one walks to school due to danger? Parents drop off their kids or just drive themselves when they come of age. I guess that kind of ties back into the first question too I DONT HAVE KIDS Are you personally worried about gun violence or the potential of it? NO I dont care about the politics of it and not meant to be a political question. Is tipping or extra charges rampant in America? YES Not just talking about hospitality. Do you have to tip? YOU SHOULD What happens if you dont? PEOPLE THINK YOU ARE AN ASSHOLE Huge serving sizes ie plates or cups? YES Far too many fast/junk food places? YES No toilets at train stations? NO All I can think of right now haha. I realise America is a big place and that it's not all the same but Im curious I suppose. Would love to know about your local/general experience. Also were you surprised about the differences for those that have traveled overseas in other Western countries? EUROPEANS ARE MUCH MORE RELAXED Answer whatever you like. Thanks

Sometimes I forget I talk to a whole bunch of you people lol. You're like rabbits Anyway, I figure you could clear up a few things Is it true that America is designed for cars? That you need to drive everywhere, even just to buy simple stuff like groceries? - Americans love their cars and use them as often as possible for the pure convenience and comfort. However, many people who live in urban areas don't use cars and use public (bus or subway) or private (cabs, uber etc) transportation instead. As for groceries, people who use cars tend to go to the grocery store less often and get a whole week's worth in one trip.
Train and bus system is horrible? - Not true. Most cities have adequate to very good public bus and train systems. The private cross country bus systems also do a good job. Long distance passenger trains are rarely used because cars, planes, or busses are easier/faster or less expensive. No one walks to school due to danger? Parents drop off their kids or just drive themselves when they come of age. I guess that kind of ties back into the first question too - Not true. Many kids walk to school. However, often distance or time makes walking less of an option. Of course there are some areas where safety concerns make walking inadvisable. Are you personally worried about gun violence or the potential of it? I dont care about the politics of it and not meant to be a political question. - Not at allIs tipping or extra charges rampant in America? Not just talking about hospitality. Do you have to tip? What happens if you dont? - In hospitality or personal service, tipping is the custom and almost everyone does it but it is voluntary and nothing will happen if you don't. As far as extra charges I'm not sure what you mean. If you book a large room or table in a restaurant for a big party there is usually an extra charge and the tip is added into the overall bill.Huge serving sizes ie plates or cups? - A wide variety of serving sizes are available. It's never one size fits all. I found serving sizes in Germany to be generally larger than in the US.Far too many fast/junk food places? - How many is too many?No toilets at train stations? - Not true in my experience.I've spent a significant amount of time in multiple countries in Europe and found the differences to be less pronounced than people think they are.All I can think of right now haha. I realise America is a big place and that it's not all the same but Im curious I suppose. Would love to know about your local/general experience. Thanks I think you need to watch less news and stop believing everything lol A lot of cities you can walk from point A to B or ride a bike. I don't live in a city with subways so can't comment on that. As for gun violence it depends where you live. I am not personally afraid I will get gunned down. I don't care what country or city you are from,we all have that not so nice neighborhood. Tipping is a nice thing to do because the wait staff works their asses off and depend on tips to survive. Yes fast food places are meant for gluttony but there are plenty of nice restaurants with great food and decent sizes.

We’re about three things here, Aussie. Big cars. Big guns. And big juicy burgers. You best not bring your pet kangaroo here. Cause we’ll run it over with a truck, shoot it with a semi auto, and then make it into a burger.

Hence the questions

Maybe I'll have a sense of what Big Bird tastes like when I bring an emu too Also have your trucks and helicopters ready Joe. Inform the national guard we will need their help. I'm bringing over something new and a lot of it. It's called salad

Sometimes I forget I talk to a whole bunch of you people lol. You're like rabbits Anyway, I figure you could clear up a few things Is it true that America is designed for cars? That you need to drive everywhere, even just to buy simple stuff like groceries? In big cities, yes. In small towns, not so much. As for getting from town to town, cities and towns are separated by miles of road you won't be crossing in less than five days on foot.
Train and bus system is horrible? Yes. That's why I never use them despite living in Chicago.
No one walks to school due to danger? Parents drop off their kids or just drive themselves when they come of age. I guess that kind of ties back into the first question too No. Plenty of kids walk to school even if its a decent trek. They usually only take the bus or get driven to school by their parents if they just live too far away from walk the distant in a reasonable time.
Are you personally worried about gun violence or the potential of it? I dont care about the politics of it and not meant to be a political question. No. Never have been.
Is tipping or extra charges rampant in America? Not just talking about hospitality. Do you have to tip? What happens if you dont? It's nothing you're made to do, but you're expected to do it as a social rule that's actually just about as binding as any legal tax.
Huge serving sizes ie plates or cups? Yes, but we also have smaller sizes.
Far too many fast/junk food places? Yes. No toilets at train stations? I've actually never tried to use the restroom at a train station, so I don't know.
All I can think of right now haha. I realise America is a big place and that it's not all the same but Im curious I suppose. Would love to know about your local/general experience. Also were you surprised about the differences for those that have traveled overseas in other Western countries? Answer whatever you like. Thanks Will have to answer this one later.
