This is horrible news, and I must protest. Captain American America's narrative arch was completed definitively in the last movie he appeared in. I never want to see him again under any circumstances, except on my deathbed when it clear that I have only seconds to live. The day, week, and month are ruined. Please excuse me as I adjourn to the emergency room to determine if I have spontaneously acquired cancer.

Maybe he'll play a Cap from another universe? Hydra Cap?

Well get ready to wind up the bitching machine even more because I hear he’s returning for ten worthless movies! Needless to say I’m having the time of YOUR life! Sorry, Skully. Couldn’t resist.

I trust there’s a good reason for it. Alternate universe Cap in Dr Strange 2, maybe. I’m excited and optimistic!

I agree with lorddeathman that his character's 'narrative arch was completed definitively in the last movie he appeared in'. They'd better not bring him back just to somehow undo his happy ending with Peggy due to all the whiners out there who've done nothing but complain about it since they saw it because they'd rather Steve be with Bucky or dead than see him in a happy relationship with the woman he loves. If they give into those whiny bitches, I may just have to make like Grandmaster and say "I am DONE with the MCU!".

Pretty sure if this is even tried it would just be an old man Steve shot. Which actually I think is really good. It wouldn’t be about Steve so his arc being done IMO isn’t relevant. It’s about Sam and Bucky, and their character growth. I suspect anyway.

Oh. I like him (he’s great in Knives Out; @raimiackbar, have you seen that yet?), I like his Captain America, and I don’t think I want to see him in the role again. I want him to move on to other stuff—like, er, Knives Out.

Maybe after 5 or 10 films So long as they don't mess with Steve and Peggy's happy ending from Avengers: Endgame, I might be willing to give Chris Evans playing the character again a chance. Though, as has been previously stated, it's really not necessary. His character arc is done. Evans seemed like he was done with the character also. I can only guess the reason he might be opening to returning is because of a buttload of cash they'd dump at his door asking him back. As for Iron Man...

Although, I am curious why people don’t extend this outlook to the character of Loki, whose arc was also completed, but is being brought back nonetheless.

I'd be totally fine with never seeing Loki again. I'm someone who was never as enamoured with him as everyone else seemed to be. I'll check out his show (assuming it's ever released on DVD), but I was over his character long ago.

I guess he needs to pay for a new house. No, I'm suspecting that Star-Lord will take a crack at it in ten years. First a governorship like his father-in-law, then the White House.

I agree his arc was done and I didnt need his series at all. I actually spoke about these thoughts on the Podcast. ArArArchStanton had the same thoughts. But... That trailer for his show.... Damn it, they sold it. They pulled me back.
