My favourite painting is 'Ophelia' by British artist Sir John Everett Millais. i studied art quite a bit in college Art should've been my favourite subject at school, but my art teacher and I didn't see eye to eye on a great many things. Consequently, my grades weren't as good as I would've liked. Despite that, I managed to hone my skills and now I draw portraits of actors/actresses (and the occasional singer). I mainly like to work with pencil.

i studied art quite a bit in college You like any specific art? yeah, i always loved Impressionism, kind of lame i guess ( it's probably the most popular style among the masses ) but i really like the color they used, Monet is more famous, but I prefer Renoir

I also like some Fauvists ( but not all ) which came later, Derain in particular looks like Impressionism ( while using even brighter colors like orange and Sakkar blue! )

Any chance you would like to share some of those drawings? Well, I've drawn a LOT of pictures. If anyone is interested in any other drawings of mine, please feel free to mention some actress names and maybe I'll post any drawings I've done of them (all I ask is that my drawings not be used elsewhere. Thank you. ). My favourite painting is 'Ophelia' by British artist Sir John Everett Millais. Why do you like this one? Well, I just think it's a beautiful picture (in a 'morbid' sort of way). I'm afraid I don't have any deep & meaningful reasons for liking it (when our art class would go to galleries and I'd be asked why I liked certain paintings, I never really had any reasons to give than simply "I just like it." (I know that's not very 'artist'-like of me).

And yes this is a test....😉 You're in luck, as I have indeed drawn a picture of Jeri Ryan as her Star Trek: Voyager character, Seven of Nine. Chalice_Of_Evil What about Margot Robbie or Catherine Zeta-Jones from The Phantom I'm afraid I haven't drawn any pictures of Catherine Zeta-Jones as yet (I'm happy to see you mention her character from The Phantom, as I really like that film and she looked great in it. I think it's the first film I ever recall seeing her), but I have drawn some pictures of Margot Robbie.

AQUA SALZ! i have a feeling you may know a little bit about this topic? Oh, no, I’m far from an art connoisseur, but I’ll second you on Dalí and AQUA JAR!™ on the Impressionists. On the whole I like realism; I’m thinking of Millet’s The Angelus: Somewhat surprisingly, Dalí was near-obsessed with this painting, and therein lies an important connection between realism and surrealism, I think: you can’t really depict that which is beyond (“sur”) realism if you can’t well depict realism. René Magritte was great at that: the details are all painstakingly realistic, but used for a scene that is clearly impossible, the intrusion of the mystical and the frightening into the commonplace. Magritte was also a fan of the great realist John Atkinson Grimshaw, whose paintings I’ve used as avatars before: The mood here is beautifully evoked. At its worst, realism in painting can seem too mawkish or (worse for many art critics) too much like illustration—but then I like illustration too, and the dividing line between fine art and illustration is always hard to delineate. Apropos of that, by the way, I’m a great fan of father and son N.C. Wyeth and Andrew Wyeth. Wyeth père was of course our great illustrator, who brought Treasure Island and many other classics to life and also did some fine regular painting. Wyeth fils was frequently lambasted by the establishment—the curse of popularity, perhaps. I think he’s great: Aptly for my tastes, this article accurately notes how Andrew Wyeth’s work displays “magic realism.” You can see his influence, by the way, on the great children’s book writer/illustrator Chris van Allsburg ( The Polar Express, Jumanji), whose work I’ve also used as avatars:

Wow that down-by-the-docks painting is complex Salz! Yeah Chalice_Of_Evil Zeta-Jones is a babe. My first visual experience of Aphrodite too. Apparently she's pretty good in Zorro too
