If you haven't heard of nor care about either the Young Avengers or the Champions, this thread is likely not for you. You're welcome. If you're still here, you've likely heard that " Feige is setting up Young Avengers" in WandaVision (and in other things). I don't share the excitement I see throughout the fandom for the Young Avengers' debut. I never cared for the team, and I don't know how Marvel Studios could introduce them into the MCU in a way that isn't 110% terrible. It appears that Wanda and Vision are going to have twins in WandaVision. These two young tots grow up to be Speed and Wiccan - the core of the YA team. I'm curious to know if anyone here has any strong feelings about Young Avengers one way or the other. In my opinion, if you're looking for a young and dynamic team with representation baked in holistically, you're looking for - the Champions. Of course.

Several scoopers claim the Young Avengers are on their way to the MCU, but no one can say if it's for a movie or for a Disney+ series. I will be disappointed if Avengers 5 is a Young Avengers movie. The team is know more for its sexual politics than any super heroics.

I’ve taken some time responding to this one because I didn’t really have a real opinion at first but I have a few points I suppose, and first off, I am looking forward to these projects, I’m just at more of a patiently curious level right now until I know more.
1. They’ll only do one “young team”, much like they’ve combined so many other things and will probably combine the concepts of the Dark Avengers and Thunderbolts as well. They may even go by both names in different situations with Young and Dark being casual references to the teams and Champions and Thunderbolts being their “official” designations.
2. I think these highly specific teams are a bit of a gimmick. It’s not that you can’t have all kids or all women or all anything else on a team, but it does present an additional challenge. I do often say that it doesn’t matter why other characters don’t show up in other solo films but here it’s the opposite question. You aren’t asking why a character would help out another character who they don’t normally hang out with. Instead you’re asking how multiple characters all got away from the characters they do hang out with, without any of them getting involved. Notice that question doesn’t apply to the Thunderbolts because it naturally makes sense how a group of all criminals would be together.
3. So I think the answer may be that the Young Avengers and A-Force are baked into other projects. I’ve still thought Young Avengers could be a team within Quantumania and band together when Wasp and Ant Man are in peril. A-Force could easily be an Avengers film with any relevant men when they come upon enchantress, who effectively nullifies the men and only the women are left to fight. Something like that. Something with purpose.
So I may be getting close to how you feel about the Young Avengers. I don’t want to assume these are reasons you share, but I’m not yet excited about it.
But I also haven’t read their comics. I did read Guardians of the Galaxy so I was super pumped for that movie coming out and maybe it’s the same thing here. Maybe if I had read Young Avengers I would have this aura of enlightenment around me right now as to what this is. I am curious how they go about these teams, so I am looking forward to it, don’t get me wrong.

Yeah... it's kind of tough coming from a place where you know all these teams fairly well from the comic books. As we get closer, this post will become more relevant.
I don't know what they're going to do, and I don't know what I want specifically. I do know what I don't want.
I'd prefer that Young Avengers, Thunderbolts, and A-Force to be distinct groups. They can have members cross over, but combining them is not something I want to see.
I don't want to see a Young Avengers team built around Hulking and Wiccan's love life (Wiccan and Speed are Wanda and Visions, children). The two characters are the first openly gay couple to be on a superhero team together. Fans of the couple and the team will be upset if that representation is not prominently displayed. It's partially what the whole team is built around.
The Champions are mainly free of sexual identity politics; the team just happens to be made up mostly of characters who identify with a racial minority in the US. Their mission statement is clear - they're about justice.
The Young Avengers is more of a PR gimmick that capitalizes on the Avengers brand name. It's literally a running joke amongst the team in the comic books. Imagine the Young Avengers as that lite beer you tried once with the rude aftertaste. I've got no problems with LGBTQ representation; I just don't want those interests to start dominating the MCU conversation.
I guess I'm a little ahead of the curve on the Young Avengers dialogue. I'm content to wait for people to get caught up and then see what they think at that time.
