Well, I purchased a few lamps. I've been living alone for the past 3 years and have been going through having to have a new deck built, one new door replaced, new windows put in, having my door locks changed, and I'm starting to make the house my own.
This sounds like simple stuff, but it's still a bit new to me. Even the little things (like I've been through 4 computers in 3 years. Don't ask). So I've also been replacing fixtures in the house, bookcases, TV, all sorts of stuff, and I'll be painting the walls.
What does this have to do with lamps you ask? I ordered these touch lamps that have 4 settings, you just touch them anywhere and they have 4 sets of brightness. I got them yesterday and bless the UPS man for covering my box in plastic (they don't always). I went to put the first one together. Nope, couldn't do it. My mistake? I put it on upside down. Took it apart, tried again, no finial. So the shade wobbled. WTF I think to myself. Take it apart.
Yes, the simplicity of putting a damn little minimalistic lamp together. Not even in my colour of black, but natural wood tones. (Not relevant). It took me five tries, and it was really just a bunch of silly mistakes, but Ta-DAH, Lilith finally put it all together properly, so she can put all the rest of the (same) lamps together. I ordered several so that I can place them around my sitting room and bedroom, which are attached.
Who'd have thought putting together a lamp would boggle me? I know a few of you figured it would undo me, but....

I once tried to watch two screens at the same time. 2 different shows. I failed. Might try it again some time I started a book once in college, and ultimately realized I was being too on the nose with messaging. I had the entire thing plotted out, and had written about 5 or 6 chapters. It was a low fantasy novel about an isolated kingdom bordered to the south and west by an endless sea and to the north and east by an impassable high mountain range, except for a small passage to the north beyond which stretched endless desert It began when a road weary and dying traveler emerges from the pass, causing upheaval in the kingdom until rumor of this stranger reaches a pair of young brothers in the southern farmlands. On their father’s word, they set out to determine the nature of what has happened, but quickly realize they have very different priorities. They follow these separately, experiencing the knowledge of a world beyond from opposing perspectives, growing to champion their causes, regretfully unaware that neither has returned home over the decades, and never seeing how much they’ve changed. Just wasn’t hitting the right balance with it

No high fantasy or sword and sorcery. Think The Princess Bride world with The Hobbit level intensity.

Languages other than English. I can learn the definitions and know how to use them in reading and writing, but I have absolutely no ear for the pacing or subtle nuances of a language, nor the tongue to use subtle variations. For that matter, I can't even recognize the difference between gym, Jim, and gem in English, much less the ayn, and gayn in Arabic.

Skipping rope. I mean what the hell! People do it so fast the rope just slices through the air. I couldn't get a rhythm to save my life. Jumping rope is practically a superpower to me.
