I needed a little holiday cheer.
I plugged in the lights and put on my Frank Sinatra Christmas album. Glass of rum and nog. Now I’m feeling real merry.

I was going to say we put ours up as well, but it was out of laziness. We were up in the attack for a completely unrelated matter and decided we didn't want to go back up later to get it, so down it came. And we made a deal to call it a holiday tree until christimas and put on skulls and pumpkins for halloween.

I usually bemoan having the Christmas decorations up too early, but this year I get it. Glad to hear about the merriness (in both meanings of the word)!
I may start a thread about this if anyone’s interested, but your Sinatra Christmas album reminded me: with each passing year, I more search for lesser-known Christmas music. Berlin’s “White Christmas”—Bing only—and Martin/Blane’s “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”—Judy only—are great, but I can only take so much of them! So I found this, and I think it’s pretty good:

Putting some Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole on the playlist right now!
Then later Elvis! He’s got some great original Christmas songs.

I make a tree from branches that fall during windstorms. It looks like a Charlie Brown tree.
I put on music too-and the snow here is welcome though I better watch out so I don't get hit by one of those snow balls!

Lol Thank you for putting up an avi. It's an avi of the mind.
The neighbors on the street behind us have a big white light christmas tree outside they keep the lights on till 3 am. I think I need the Millennium Falcon to navigate this mine field of snow balls.

I have one of those foot-and-a-half tall mini-Christmas trees that come with the ornaments already on it, so mine's up early, too.

For some reason this one isn’t played as much as some others. Makes no sense: it’s Jerry Herman and Angela Lansbury! It may be better lyrically than musically, but lyrically it’s pretty brilliant (the Porteresque snappy/happy inner rhyme is great).
