The more i think about it the more I loved the remix on the first MCU post credit scene here. Ms Marvel putting a team together....please? "You think you're the only kid with powers?" "I'm 24."

Ok lets talk about it... The more i think about it the more I loved the remix on the first MCU post credit scene here. Ms Marvel putting a team together....please? "You think you're the only kid with powers?" "I'm 24." Yeah, I liked their exchange (and the acknowledgement that this 'kid team' really aren't made up of too many actual 'kids', but more like teenagers/young adults). That^ scene actually came *before* the end credits, rather than at the end of them (at least in the version of the movie that I saw), while the Monica scene was mid-credits. Did the Kamala/Kate Bishop scene come before the credits or at the end of them for you? After waiting around to see if there was anything post-credits, there appeared to be nothing and all we got was what sounded like a Flerken vomiting up something/someone it had swallowed - quite disappointing. I'm curious if it was the same for anybody else. and I was expecting Kelsey Grammer to turn up as Beast, since I'd read the rumours/spoilers for it. Personally, I thought this version looked better (despite the obvious CGI of it)/was more Beast-like than he in his previous movie appearances. Youre right it wasn't a post credit scene even though it felt like it. Also I had heard the post post credit scene was crap so I didn't even stick around for it.

Did you find it weird in Dar-Benn's flashback, how it seemed like Captain Marvel purposely targeted her and collapsed a bunch of stones/rocks onto her? I thought for sure we'd learn this was her misremembering what happened, but I don't recall any such thing. So, was Captain Marvel just that ruthless or what? Yeah, I liked their exchange (and the acknowledgement that this 'kid team' really aren't made up of too many actual 'kids', but more like teenagers/young adults). That^ scene actually came *before* the end credits, rather than at the end of them (at least in the version of the movie that I saw), while the Monica scene was mid-credits. Well, that tends to suggest the post-credit 'scene' was indeed just the sound of a Flerken barfing up someone/something (as I'd describe that as 'crap'), though hopefully someone who stuck around can report back and either confirm or deny what (if anything) came at the very end of the credits.

I thought it was a lot of fun. I have seen worse from Marvel lately.
And....
I love Iman Vellani. She confirmed it in this film. Ms. Marvel is my favorite new character.

You guys are awesome. I still have to get out and see this with the wife. I did start Loki btw. Looks insane and Max insisted I watch it immediately. I’m just glad to see everybody still kicking ass and having a great time

Went out to see this last night
Good times at City Walk Orlando with my brother and our wives, a set of margaritas from Jimmy Buffets and a good time in the crowds of Universal.
The film was enjoyable. The hopping interplay and subsequent comradery was fun, and the space elements were cool. There is a little takeaway from where the Skrull and Kree are at now but I’m not sure there’s a lot of meat on that bone to chew on.
We brushed over the supreme intelligence, which surely had some more miles left and landed on a heavy handed band of desperate Kree and some rather unique dynamics to prevent further damage. Yeah that’s fine
It falls in line IMO with the still good, enjoyable, but not too intellectually stimulating and probably missing some potential theme of the post Infinity Era. And that’s not a critique of this film. In a vacuum, this film works great. It’s just there’s not a lot of purpose in the series and everything has truly hit a safely lighthearted tone with no franchise outside of Loki really pushing anything or challenging the safe bet.
And this is tough but it was a bit on the nose with it being exclusively about women. The trio makes total sense. I love it. The villain choice is fine. No problem. The one that pricked my eyebrow was Valkarie which I’d not even mention except for the Hawkeye stinger at the end. Ok, so we’ve got Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel, Photon, Binary, Valkarie, and Hawkeye. Listen I get it. It’s a bit forced though.
And I don’t even know what to make of Beast.
Good, enjoyable entry if a little passive and perfunctory

I’m plowing through your review right now and enjoying the commentary from all of you
I just hit the post credits talk and immediately had the thought that I’m still left in a big limbo as to what all this implies. An OG Beast. I like it, but I also have so many questions. Does that imply Patrick Stewart is still around? Does it imply the Xmen will have multifersal origins or aince Kamala is labeled as a mutant are they being grown organically? I’m not trying to be cynical, but this seems fairly unclear as to what they’re attempting here. Where should my focus be? Which part am I supposed to get excited to see more of and which part is fleeting?
Also I confess I realized I did not give this film my full attention, which I didn’t realize while watching it. Several plot points got discussed afterwards which I apparently didn’t pick up on. I blame the pre game margaritas and will endeavor to give this another go soon. I did enjoy it

Tacking on a lesser unrelated product like the Foxverse because some people will geek over it. Honestly it comes very close to ruining it for it. I do not want to see Hugh Jackman show up. It’s not exciting. It’s an eye roll moment of condescension. I know it’s coming and I’m insulted by the idea that linking in a retired series that was rarely any good is supposed to get me pumped. Just keep it out of my series. I don’t need it. Now grammar is cool and if this isn’t related to Fox awesome. But I doubt it. And as I said before the leaving the intent in limbo is more confusing than exciting

Lol No lie though if you ever get the chance to do a movie at Citywalk or Disney Springs, DO IT. The food and drink options along with passive entertainment before and after the film are endlessly enjoyable,

It was just after Covid and we kind of winged it so I really only got to see Universal STudios...we tried Epcot but there was no more tickets available and it was late in our week so we just went and got hammered. Anyhow, my family has gone down a few times since then and if I wind up going back I'll add that to the list. I'd like to go back and do some of the parks properly this time.

I was just talking about this with Maximura over the phone
I do enjoy this film, but could it have gotten a boost from utilizing a cosmic character like perhaps the recently introduced Adam Warlock. Or even introducing a new heavy like Morg as a hired heavy?

One thing I like about this movie is that it continues the quintessential Marvel tradition of saying that you don't have to be perfect to be a hero. Captain Marvel is shown to be very imperfect but she is still very much a hero.

I was just talking about this with Maximura over the phone I do enjoy this film, but could it have gotten a boost from utilizing a cosmic character like perhaps the recently introduced Adam Warlock. Or even introducing a new heavy like Morg as a hired heavy? This is especially something that I would push for in every single film or tv show if I was someone in creative. Theres are probably millions of potential characters to choose from...and at least hundreds that fans will pop for if they spot them on the screen. Like why not replace the forgettable Saber background extras of Talia and Dag (guarantee you didn't even know their names and probably dont even know who I'm talking about) but replace them with Abigail Brand, who they have the rights to nowadays and would get an immediate pop from comic fans who know her from SWORD. She even has a comic relationship with Beast so you'd even have that going for you with the extra scene. Or...when it comes to the villain...just spice her up a bit. The Kree are a diverse people. Ronan might have been pretty generic too but at least he had blue skin and a different look. I've also been waiting years to see Moonstone on screen and she's a Captain Marvel villain who also ties into the Thunderbolts. Couldve been an interesting choice.
