If this causes Marvel Studios to get cold feet about a Horror-themed MCU movie, I will be very angry. Do not mess this up for the rest of us, New Mutants.

Why did anybody ever think this film could be adopted into the MCU? Like for real. Why would anybody want that, or think it was an idea that Feige would do anything but laugh at? And I swear they were doing it just to piss MCU fans off. At this very moment, I am STILL in the middle of a bitter debate with an XMU fan on another board who STILL believes New Mutants will be canonical to the MCU. We made a bet almost 14 months ago - and I'm still waiting to claim my winnings because he thinks we can't know for sure until we see it. If not for the fact that non-payment will result in an instant and permanent ban, I think I'd be out with my sig looking for this guy - to kneecap him at the very least. It's SO fucking annoying. Every single painful delay has held up the resolution of our bet. It's like someone betting on the exact day the world will end, and then it comes, nothing happens, and you magically get an extension. I've tried to ignore this fool, but he makes threads about how New Mutants will connect to the MCU every three or four days. The latest fanfic is that the New Mutants will get lost in Magik's limbo dimension at the end of this movie, and upon attempting to return to the Fox universe, they will find themselves in the MCU instead. He sounds like dcfan's brother from another mother. Can I get an autograph? Electronic sig will be fine too

‘The New Mutants’ Creates Record for Releasing Most No. of Trailers Before The Film linkLOL Why did anybody ever think this film could be adopted into the MCU? Like for real. Why would anybody want that, or think it was an idea that Feige would do anything but laugh at? I thought it couldve been possible. I mean who wouldve thought Spider-Man would be in the MCU before it happened and in that way?

Lord Death Man that Storm idea is brilliant LOL. I guess an actual x-men villain is just too complex of an idea (if it aint Magneto, it's no one)

Its not like bringing in Spiderman though, it’s like saying the Raimi films were in. You just don’t bring in somebody else’s work like that. It’s the kind of idea Feige would have assumed somebody was joking about if they even brought it up. It’s just not a serious consideration.

I give it a 7/10. I enjoyed it. I thought the characters were fine, yes kind of cliched but decent enough. Yeah the twist was very predictable lol. Magik, also Colossus' sister, was the best character even though she was kind of a bitch. Lockheed was weird but nice to see him, you'll know what I mean if you decide to watch it. A good effort to try and break the superhero mould but they could have done more. As for the horror part, hmmm, so-so on the 'scary' front. Just a little bit creepy

I gave it a 6/10. Mediocre and forgettable but watchable. As I've said before, I think the best way to describe it as a decent pilot for a new series on SyFy.

New Mutants isn't horrible, but it's not worth seeing in a theater.
It's like watching the two episodes, per season, of Gifted that turn out to be okay - back to back.

**slightly spoilery below**
I didn’t think it was that bad. I liked it better than the last two X-Men films, for sure. I think I was less bored watching this than Logan. It may have started a bit ‘slow’ (and why does Adam Beach keep getting work? His bad acting in the beginning stood out like a sore thumb), but I appreciated them taking the time to give us all these ‘character moments’ in the first half of the film before things started getting crazy and they let loose with the characters’ powers (it’s similar to the 2017 version of Power Rangers in that way). I liked this group of characters more than the teens in the last few films.
I’ve seen everyone hating on the giant demon bear, but I thought it was at least more effective than albino Jessica Chastain or Smurfpocalyse. Leave Smoky alone!
I really liked that this movie had a minimal cast and was self-contained. I appreciated the more ‘intimate’ feel to it. I guess I can add this to my ever-growing pile of movies I like that everyone else seems to hate. It's the type of movie to watch on a rainy day.
The biggest question I had was...why are they watching episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer out of order? First they’re watching Season 5’s ‘The Body’ and then later they watch Season 4’s ‘Hush’. That’s no way to watch the show!
