I think Julia Garner is great. She is supremely talented, and I'd be disappointed if she got caught up in a "woke" storm because of the unorthodox surfer casting. It would sting to see her in YouTube thumbnails rendered with enlarged eyes and exaggerated muscles as Galactus stares on in disbelief. Sadly, if there isn't a compelling reason for the gender swap, that is to say, if this is strictly message-forward casting - I'd have to call it… the new FF movie is D.O.A.

So they're having sex while surfing through space with an old man watching them? Well… yeah… If Rad and Bal are both "Silver Surfers," it wouldn't be ideal, but I wouldn't lose my mind either. That old man is geriatric Tony Stark. Can you blame him? It's cosmic-level intercourse. Hubba hubba. I can see why it would draw a crowd.

Looking at the response to the Shalla-Bal surfer from the fandom - sigh - it's another unforced error for team MCU.

Okay.
I'm declaring this film a soft failure out of the gate. Not to be confused with its big brother the complete failure, the soft failure is a film that drives a lot of interest leading up to its theatrical run and shortly after, only to fizzle out and fade from fandom memory as it was predicated on one or more gimmicks. Box office receipts will be respectable if not towering, and critical reviews will be charitable, if not stellar.
Fear not, assuming you have any, your faith in this project isn't misplaced; YOU will likely enjoy the final product but be seen as some apologist when you exit the theater declaring that you got your money's worth.
So, what's wrong with this movie? How should I know? It has yet to come out. I'm not going to let that stop me from preemptively trying to determine what could and should have been done better to ensure victory.
Firstly, here is a short list of characters that should have been barred from appearing in the movie: Galactus, Dr. Doom, The Silver Surfer, and (possibly) Alicia Masters. I would squeeze in the Yancy Street gang (and maybe get them involved in cybercrime).
Second - we have to ditch the name. Fantastic Four? Again!? Why should I watch another film named Fantastic Four? Better to rebrand it.
Latest and gentlemen, I give you… FF.
Yes, that's it. FF (double F, if you're nasty). With a bit of sleight of hand and a modern tweak, you've got the much-needed rebrand for the IP. This will keep things vague enough to make room for a Future Foundation introduction later.
Then we'll need to get Reed, Sue, Ben, and Johnny out of the superhero business. They should be "effective altruists" or philanthropists instead—dedicated to improving the human condition and transforming humanity into an interstellar species (but not in that smarmy Muskian way). Fisticuffs and such should be a sideline they get dragged into occasionally. They're not Avengers or X-Men—they're researchers and scientists first.
I don't need to see them fight a villain of the week so much as I'd love to see them deal with a planet-wide catastrophe (perhaps unintentionally set in motion by a Villain). The idea would be to make them over as existential-risk managers. They may be working on developing Earth's first planetary defense system to prevent the next alien invasion. The science in FF should be closer to speculative than solely fantasy-based.
Villans? If we must. The Psycho Man, The Molecule Man, or the Mole Man.

Am I the only Marvel fan excited for the F4? The fandom is a shambles!

My enthousiasm is lacking overall. The only movie this year I could do without. And I dont even know when the next show comes out.
The main issue for me is that they are lacking a plan. Not only with where they are going but also when stuff is releasing.

Maybe I am biased though because they are my favorite Marvel property next to Spiderman

to be fair...the MCU has done nothing to build hype for a Fantastic Four film.

to be fair...the MCU has done nothing to build hype for a Fantastic Four film. I suppose. But those promo art pics were kinda cool, I thought. They sort of confirm an alternate 1960s retro futuristic setting. And that’s pretty exciting to me.

Lol Currently the Fallout fandom, or at least a certain group of fans, are throwing a fit over the Fallout series. Like if you thought Star Wars fans were toxic, you should meet these people.

The show is actually not bad, it's just there was some creative choices that didn't sit to well with a certain group of fans who religiously worships one of the games (New Vegas) Most of the Fallout fandom that i've seen so far have liked the show. It's far from perfect but considering that we had a really bad Resident Evil and Halo show recently, i'll gladly take the Fallout series.

Am I the only Marvel fan excited for the F4? The fandom is a shambles! Im definitely excited. I really like the F4 team in general. I remember watching the cartoon and specifically an episode where Sue Storm breaks bad and looks like some goth chick but is actually bad not like Tobey in Spider-Man with the cringey dance lol

I remember it too. It really makes you think about how dangerous her powers are. She made minced meat of practically the whole team. A little creativity and some malice and she could be a warlord. The reveal that it was Sue Storm in that outfit was like whoa.

I can't discuss them yet because i haven't gotten to the episode to get the full context, but let's just say they including a character and faction that was featured primary in New Vegas. I'm about 3 episodes away from finishing the show, so i'll gladly go into more details once i see the full context. But there's screenshots out there of what some people are outrage over.

So obviously fans of the original game are upset by that.
New Vegas is shown at the end and MR. House had a cameo in a flashback, so i guess people are upset that Bethesda is doing something with New Vegas now.
Other than that i don't see any big issues and honestly it looks like it just comes down to whether or not you want Fallout 1 and New Vegas touched by the people working on the show.

That seems awfully nitpicky. I expected it to be about something more substantial… or something gender related. 😂 I doubt I’ll ever watch though. Something about it looks really off to me. Have a feeling I won’t like it.

I yawn hard at the thought of seeing Dr. Doom or Silver Surfer (of either gender) in a Fantastic Four movie. We need an unseen rogue from the Fantastic Four gallery, preferable one of the less grounded characters that is more deliberately weird..
