Thought this may be a fun concept to mess around with. For example: Star Wars: An aging politician struggles to make his vision a reality. Or: A man and his son try to find their place in the grand scheme.

Thought this may be a fun concept to mess around with. For example: Star Wars: An aging politician struggles to make his vision a reality. Or: A man and his son try to find their place in the grand scheme. That is indeed a neat idea for a thread, maximura. I'd had a similar idea some time ago (but never used it) which would've involved asking people to look at their TV Guide, find a movie description and post it. Others would then have to figure out what movie was being described - which wouldn't always be so easy since TV Guide descriptions often don't really do movies justice. Here's an example of one such TV Guide description for a movie I most recently watched: 'A troubled teenager manipulates events' {Spoiler}Donnie Darko (2001). Anyway, getting back on the topic of your thread...here are two 'understated movie descriptions' I was able to think of (I've put them in spoiler tags for anyone who wants to guess what movies are being described - though they're pretty easy). A guy just wants to complete his rock collection. {Spoiler}Avengers: Infinity War (2018). After completing his rock collection, a guy just wants to retire and become a farmer. {Spoiler}Avengers: Endgame (2019). Apologies, Grandmaster . I'd come up with my 'understated movie description' for Avengers: Infinity War days ago, but kept forgetting to post it. After I read your 'understated movie description' for it, I thought about not posting mine (as I was worried it'd appear like I was 'copying' you or whatever), but in the end I decided to go ahead and post my one. I wanted to clarify that I hadn't read yours until just now.

Awesome. I actually love the "guess the real description" plan as well. Hilariously understated all on their own at times. Something to consider as possibly an elimination tournament, starting with fairly easy and working towards nearly impossible until we have a lone movie buff.
