Going to try to see this tonight. I’ve been out of town for a couple of weeks on business but I’ve got a light day and I want to enjoy this for whatever it is. It’s truly the last time and I never expected it. I feel lucky it exists

It’s truly the last time and I never expected it. I feel lucky it exists And? Did you see it? YESSSSSS. Sorry I meant to post right after. Caught it at 5 eastern time yesterday. A fitting ending and appropriate epilogue that left me feeling nostalgic. There were several moments of taking out the bad guys that made me scream “ouch” or some such expletive and especially in the back half several good looking and exciting set pieces with a worthwhile conclusion that left Indy grounded in the real world despite his explorers instinct to pine for knowledge he’ll never possess. Quite a few fallbacks but all of them rolled right in without a camera wink moment. The originals remain pinnacle Indiana Jones, but I am so glad this exists. ArArRated The Last Last Crusade.

Glad you got to see it. There were a few genuine surprises if you managed to avoid spoilers and set photos from Reddit. I was in suspense for a few minutes in the third act and thought they would make it to Voller's intended destination until Indy figured it out.

I likewise avoided all spoilers. I just knew time was involved. I had an idea they were going to spend much of the time revisiting young Indy and resetting some sort of past deed but I was pleasantly surprised with how this ultimately played out. It was a treat to open with young Indy and it makes me want to rewatch the originals so bad. A time from my youth now gone.

I can respect people who genuinely didn't like the film (even if I can't understand them), but all the hot takes and bad actors chasing clicks are just sad and wrong. I feel privileged to have been young when this franchise started, and it was amazing to watch Indiana Jones "grow up" with me in this last installment. After Harrison Ford is gone (and I hope that doesn't happen any time soon), the age of the movie star will truly be over. What's even better than the film to a certain degree is watching Harrison on the press tour talk about what the character means to him. The man is truly one-of-a-kind. I'm excited to see what he does with General Ross.

I was just telling a coworker who has only been in the country for a couple of years and did not grow up with Indiana Jones, that I’d consider this a must watch series in the history of cinema. It holds a place as a staple of what going to the movies is all about. High adventure legendary characters done in a film with glorious sets and choreography. It’s the epitome of fun at the theater.

Glad to hear there was a lot of enthusiasm for this series among the Champions. The initial two episodes, now seen in their entirety, didn't blow me away, but I'll keep watching.

Great review, guys. I wanted to wait until I saw the movie before I listened to this conversation. I saw the film and don't have much more to contribute than what you've both shared in this discussion. While mildly entertaining, the film is an abject failure as a genre piece. This type of comic book movie talks down to the genre. It's a puerile fantasy devoid of even the thinnest logic. I can't back this type of lowest-common-denominator CBM storytelling when the genre is capable of so much more. Jason Momoa is likable and charismatic as always, but pretty much everyone else is wasted. The Lost Kingdom is better than the Flash, and it's pure gold when held up against most of the other DCEU features, but that is not a particularly high bar. I can't muster more than a four out of ten for the film. Grandmaster , my sincere condolences on the passing of your father.
