I just had a thought about whether or not we'd see the reverse of this episode in episode 2, where we follow Mark and flash past the Stephen stuff and thought that could be really cool...but that probably doesn't work as it seems Mark is fully aware of Stephen. But I already started typing so im posting it anyway.

Awesome. Very surreal. I'm hoping Disney pushes further into experimental territory like this more often.

Well that’s was damn cool. Excellent production, love Oscar, fantastic suspense, great action, and a nice little mystery that I actually don’t know exactly how is going to unfold. The Egyptian lore is intriguing, I can’t wait for more of this. Love it!

I’d bet we get at least some of it now that you mention it.

That was everything it could have been and should have been. Would have made for an outstanding opening 45 minutes of a creature film. That’s the kind of quality we truly have here.
Oscar is once again world class. This guy should be winning best actor awards for every project he does.
Love the quick cuts to new settings and the uneasy nature that it puts the audience along with Steven. You really aren’t sure what’s happening for quite some time. Is it a dream? Is it real? It’s fantastic staging and editing and writing as well.
The blending of Egyptian mythology is intriguing too. Is Arthur also an avatar?
And who was the girl on the phone? What has Marc done in the past? There’s a lot of genuine suspense and mystery here and for once I’m glad I’m not familiar with the comics and can just enjoy this ride without having any built in idea as to what might happen.

ArArArchStanton, for once I’m glad I’m not familiar with the comics and can just enjoy this ride without having any built in idea as to what might happen.I was thinking this as well. I mean a decent amount of phase 4 stuff I only have surface level knowledge on...read too much Xmen, Thunderbolts and Deadpool...but this property in particular I'm kind of happy I don't know what to expect right out of the gate. The most I got aside from the trailer was a friend of mine on vacation back in january talking about it by the pool. So not knowing where exactly we're going worked well for this first episodes style.

Didn't even realize that they show some of the blacked out scenes in the trailer so now Im fairly sure we will get these events from Marcs perspective...at least some of them.

that’s extremely cool and makes this perhaps the most interesting acting performance in all of the MCU. Oscar is a steal. He’s incredible. Possibly the best actor in the world. And I know he doesn’t have a long term contract but I hope they find some ways to keep him interested and involved.

I love this surreal corner of the MCU. Moonknight evokes Loki and a little WandaVision and these have been the most appealing so far for me. It is equally important and has been just as epic in many cases to flip back to the more grounded shows as well, but MoonKnight is right back on point with that bizarre mystical quality that I can’t turn away from.

I like the religious cult aspect of Arthur Harrow and this plays into the redemption narrative, but in a negative way. Good and evil are seen by him as a binary predestination with the evil needing purging, not unlike in Puritanism, while Loki in his redemption narrative explains no one is solely good or evil nor predestined to be evil.

This episode was awesomely cool. A bit more exploration of the characters. Yay two moon suits lol. So Marc/Stephen has a partner in crime. Oscar absolutely brings it to the role of Moon Knight this time around compared to the last ep which was already strong enough. Stellar movie actor in a show. Phenomenal acting

Episode 2 wasn't as fun as the first one but we get a lot more plot and uncover important character motivations and relationships.

Good to see you. This was definitely a more personal episode and I’m glad they went ahead and got into it. I confess I’m wanting to see what exactly he does on a regular basis but I think this show is now completely on “stop the other god mode” and I hope that gets as crazy as it sounds. Some of the back and forth between Marc and Steven is spectacular. I haven’t confirmed this but I’m pretty sure Oscar acts these scenes out with with his brother, and then switches to play the other part. I didn’t realize Steven was in the mirror for a moment at the end and very much enjoyed his description of being trapped and Marc’s counter that sometimes it will take all of his strength just to be a fly on the wall. That’s haunting.

I just finished it. I liked episode 2 better than episode 1. It expands on all the characters, the setup, and the mythology. Excellent world-building. I'm stumped as to why critics who saw this in advance didn't like the second episode. Mr. Knight looks cool AF. I was mildly concerned about his translation to live-action. Look closely at the rooftop chase scene, and you'll see Mr. Knight on all of the reflective surfaces as traditional Moon Knight navigates the structures. It's very subtle. I don't know when this started, but the bigger question is which personality is real. If Marc is the dominant personality, as he is in the comics, then Steven Grant is just a construct. But Grant appears to be sentient and believes he has the right to exist and control the body.

That idea of being locked inside another mind with only the ability to view what’s happening, and perhaps not even that much. It’s very claustrophobic. I’ll try and go back to watch for those extra reflective surfaces scenes. Very near addition.

Just to play along... I thought episode 1 was more enjoyable. Definitely more fun. Episode 2 developed more of the plot tho and even answered some questions. Biggest low of the episode for me was the invisible fight. It may just be lifelong hangover from Nightmare on Elm Street 4 but I hate it when they go the invisible route for fight scenes. It always comes across as cheap to me. Again that may just be my own personal hangover but I was annoyed by it. Most of the rest of the episode was solid tho. Love the way theyre doing reflections. The second suit looked cool, thought Stephen being impressed with his image was a fun moment. Layla is kind of generic but I do think almost anyone might feel that way standing next to Mark/Stephen....so Im ok if she's the Agent K to his Agent J. I agree that I think Layla has third party interests. Maybe those align with something in Marks life before Konshu became a part of it, maybe not. I definitely think she knows more about whats happening than we do in regards to the scarab and Ammit and Harlow. If the scarab leads them to a giant tigers head buried in the desert tho...I'll laugh. Konshu ultimate villain = Sell, but I don't think he's the hero either. I think Konshu has his own motives that don't necessarily align with what Mark/Stephen might actually want. Layla will become Moon Knight = Buy. I agree that it could happen but if it did it wouldn't be a long term position. Konshu can control body = Sell, at least for the context of him being a full third personality. Now that we know more of Mark, I don't think he was the one to ask his coworker out either. He just seems way too serious for that. Im thinking the third personality is more suave and charming, perhaps a little aloof. That doesn't sound like Mark, Stephen or Konshu.

Enjoyed episode 3 quite a bit. It's one that definitely has my wheels turning theorizing a few things. Liked the episodes dynamic between Mark and Stephen as well as Layla getting more developed. Got more of Konshu and the gods and that's always gonna be interesting. Overall another solid episode as far as im concerned.

Good episode. Felt a bit Indiana Jones-y, for lack of a better term. Not much more to add. I was distracted watching the ep this time around
