Does Sony have the rights to those characters?

Olivia Wilde didn't direct THE VIGILANTE, she only stars in it. And it gets a 5.7 on IMDb.
So what are you ready for? Not trying to be snarky, just curious.

So what are you ready for? Not trying to be snarky, just curious. Personally, I think she's long overdue for her first foray into the comic book movie world either in front of or behind the camera. If given sufficient creative freedom, I think she could be a double threat in the CBM space. I'd like to see what she can do within the genre.

You know what? I didn't think she had any directing experience, then I look her up on IMDb and see she's the director of BOOKSMART, which I absolutely frakking loved.
So, you know what? Now I'm ready, too.

I remember reading she was up for the role of Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), but turned it down.
I guess all roads lead back to the MCU for Olivia Wilde.

Yeah, I liked her too. Though I know there were certain people who didn't. {Spoiler}That's why I'm guessing the writers gave her a fatal illness. It was their way of saying, "Okay, haters, you want her dead? She WILL be...eventually."
They even had her make House promise to kill her. One thing I noticed regarding her was that in the season that she finally became a 'regular' cast member and her name was added to the opening credits...she barely appeared in the season (I think she was off filming a movie at that time). I always wonder if actors/actresses get paid even if they're not in episodes. If that's the case, that had to be the easiest paycheck ever for her (even better if those with 'regular' status get paid more than those without). I was happy when they eventually revealed what her character's name really was, since she mostly went by '13'. Sorry for getting OT, Indiana Jones . When I first looked at your OP, I misread 'Jessica Drew' as 'Jessica De Gouw' and thought the Australian actress who portrayed Huntress in the TV series Arrow had gotten a gig in an MCU film.

I thought her and -oh man, I haven't seen this show in so long I forget her name, but I wanna say- Amber (?) were a refreshing change from Cameron, who I never really liked. Of course they killed her too. LOL

LOL As yes, Amber (or, as House referred to her, 'Cutthroat Bitch'). {Spoiler}I remember the episode that revealed her demise - it was done in a really trippy way with another actress (Ivana Miličević) wearing a piece of amber jewelry which represented the character of Amber, I believe. I'm amazed I still remember that^, as I haven't watched the show in a long time either (not since it originally aired here).

Ah yes, I remember that episode too- where he started out in a strip club not knowing he was just in a bus accident. I love how that show got extremely weird in some episodes. My favorites were those ones where he bizarrely hallucinated that Amber was haunting him. House was one of my favorite shows in college. Don't think I'd ever rewatch it though. I found medical stuff fascinating then. I'm a big hypochondriac now though. LOL

LOL I've forgotten a lot of the show, but I remember not knowing what Cameron's, Chase's and Foreman's first names were in the show for a while and then all of a sudden they had them each say the other's first names within a short space of time. I also recall Cameron was brunette and then went blonde, didn't she? I know Jennifer Morrison, who played Cameron, was blonde in Once Upon A Time. Two episodes I recall quite liking was the one where House operated on his own leg at home (yes, it was grisly, but he was well-prepared, having everything he needed handy...though it still didn't go too well for him, of course) and other being where he went on a bit of a road trip with Thirteen and I learned that potato guns are a thing. Poor politicidal. He's going to return to this thread of his and be wondering what happened to it.

Generally, when an actor is part of the regular cast, their contract is set-up to pay them a certain amount per episode, throughout the season.
So, if Actor X is a regular cast member of Show Y and has a $100K per episode contract, they will receive that $100K per ep, no matter how much, or how little, they appear in each episode.
I'm guessing the producers of HOUSE (I never watched it) wanted Olivia Wilde to become a part of the main cast and at the same time she was offered a movie role. I would say her agent(s) negotiated with the producers of HOUSE, basically saying "You can have Olivia when the film is done, but she gets a full season contract", and the producers, not wanting to risk losing her, capitulated.

Talking to Variety, Wilde was asked about her mystery Marvel project, but refused to give anything away. "That, I can’t say a word about. Yeah, no - I can’t say anything about it," the actor and filmmaker tells the trade. "I have to bury myself in the couch now [Laughs]."

I wonder if this will still happen with the recent bad press she's been getting with the drama with Shia LaBeouf and Florence Pugh?

It amazes me that people are calling Olivia Wilde things like 'a nightmare' and 'an asshole' when Shia LaBeouf has admitted "I hurt that woman. And in the process of doing that, I hurt many other people...I was a pleasure-seeking, selfish, self-centered, dishonest, inconsiderate, fearful human being.” Though I guess at this point I shouldn't be surprised by such things.

As far as I know, Olivia Wilde has never abused anyone. But, yes, by all means continue equating the two. You know what happens to me on here occasionally in these old threads? I’ll read a post by “deleted” and I’ll think, Hey! I agree with this guy! This “deleted” is my kinda dude, a real hip cat, a genuine wizard! Who was this remarkable human being? Then I realize that the post was actually mine!

Some of the best posts that I've seen on other forums (which I have found myself agreeing with completely) have been by "deleted". "Deleted" is a great guy girl person! Probably one of the BEST posters around. When do we get a "deleted" appreciation day, HUH? Oh! No… You misunderstand. I wasn't being sarcastic. I was being sincere. You're welcome.
