The morning radio show I listen to was doing this a few weeks ago; I thought it’d go well with Chalice_Of_Evil’s Bond survivor game… My favorites: My unpopular opinion on Bond music is that I don’t love “Goldfinger” (the song. I like the movie). It’s OK (John Barry’s melody is good), but Shirley Bassey’s voice is as usual screechy, and the lyrics don’t fit with the movie at all. According to Wiki, lyricists Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley “were not shown any film footage or script excerpts”—and it shows. Goldfinger’s, er, not the kind of guy to “pour golden words” in a pretty girl’s ear! (Brief diversion on Bricusse: Musical-theater fans usually consider him the worst theater lyricist ever for his work on Jekyll and Hyde—and, yes, his lyrics for that are truly the pits, and his lyrics for the stage version of Victor/Victoria aren’t much better. But his early work [mostly with with Newley], whether on Bond or something else, is surprisingly solid. He wrote the lyrics for “You Only Live Twice” on his own, and I think they’re actually good. Also, he’s married to Yvonne Romain. That’s an accomplishment in its own right.) Your choices?

My #1 favourite Bond song is 'You Know My Name' by Chris Cornell from Casino Royale. My #2 favourite is one you already mentioned, Sa[lzmar]kaar - 'Live and Let Die' by Paul McCartney. And my #3 favourite would be 'The Living Daylights' by A-Ha.

Just discovered this song, written for the Bond game Everything or Nothing. I’m no gamer and haven’t played this game, but I may have to check out a walkthrough because it sure looks interesting. (I’d heard of it before, but I was just reading about it because Popeye Doyle at v2.0 said it was a better finale for Pierce Brosnan’s Bond than Die Another Day.)
Anyway, the song’s fun. It’s not a great song or anything, but I like it much more than the modern Bond themes sung by “screechy dudes” who “hit those super high notes,” to quote @ghostyghostington. This supposedly jazz-influenced version is far better than the awful version with a synthesizer, which Wikipedia says is the main version.
