Hey, waaaaaaiiiit a second here. How can you name your least favorite Bond but not your least favorite MCU movie? I must know these things! I must understand your mind, Archie! Aye, to untrained eye this may seem a mystery indeed. lol So there's a few factors here 1. The Bond series just isn't as consistently good to great 2. It's not meant to be a single unit all working together 3. I started ranking these when I was younger before I realized I didn't feel any real need to rank films 4. I've got very strong opinions about some of these which are counter to the mainstream 5. And the portrayals and styles are often sharply contrasting, which is perfectly fine, the eras in which they take place and the variety of actors make for vastly different experiences I mean you go from not too aggressive Connery in a fairly low budget Dr No film smoking and slapping bitches in the face to massive budget Craig films where he's super hard boiled but deeply compassionate. And all sorts of changes and variety in between. So comparing and contrasting is just part of the game for it I guess. I heard a great breakdown on the various Bond's personalities one time. It's going to sound like a crude question lol, but it really gets into who they are, and it's "which Bonds would go down on women". ;-) lolol. This is actually a fun topic. I say Craig Yes, Connery No, Dalton No, Broson and Lazenby both Yes like they need it, and Moore No I must disagree- Connery's Bond strikes me as the kind of man that loves to perform cunnilingus.

Round 1 is now closed. Die Another Day - 5 votes Thunderball - 1 vote Quantum of Solace - 1 vote Spectre - 1 vote Die Another Day (2002) won't be living to die another day. And so begins Round 2: Dr. No (1962) From Russia with Love (1963) Goldfinger (1964) Thunderball (1965) You Only Live Twice (1967) On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) Diamonds Are Forever (1971) Live and Let Die (1973) The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) Moonraker (1979) For Your Eyes Only (1981) Octopussy (1983) Never Say Never Again (1983) A View to a Kill (1985) The Living Daylights (1987) Licence to Kill (1989) GoldenEye (1995) Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) The World Is Not Enough (1999) Casino Royale (2006) Quantum of Solace (2008) Skyfall (2012) Spectre (2015)

Never Say Never Again
Its not even an official film, an extremely poor remake of thunderball that a co writer desperately tried to make work with a sadly aging Connery. It’s dreadful
PS: Quantum of Solace is a damn fun film with some of the absolute best character moments. It’s the most underrated in the series by far.

I used to think of Quantum of Solace as one of the 'worst'...but compared to certain other Bond films, I don't mind it quite so much now (still not a favourite of mine, though). I'm voting for Never Say Never Again (1983) as well.

Ill admit I probably go a little over on it, Quantum is legit one of my very favorites so it does blow my mind a bit for people to put it with something like Diamonds Are Forever.

Might as well go along with the crowd and never see Never Say Never Again again in this game. What’s too bad is I like a lot about it, particularly the opening sequence, Connery returning not really all that worse for wear, Kim Basinger, Edward Fox’s M, and Max van Sydow’s magnificent Blofeld, the best and least jokey Blofeld of them all, in my opinion. And yet the writer somehow makes the basic Thunderball plot unwatchably boring, and the flat direction sucks (which is weird because Irvin Kershner did such a good job on The Empire Strikes Back). The video game scene is one of the worst things in any Bond movie, ‘official’ or not. Really too bad. By the way, I guess we’re not including the equally ‘unofficial’ 1954 and 1967 adaptations of Casino Royale? The latter is, famously, a hot mess, but the former actually has some good stuff about it. Peter Lorre as Le Chiffre is a lot of fun. Also: let me do my de rigueur book and radio adaptation recommendations. Ian Fleming’s original books are well-written, well-paced, intelligent, witty, clever, and harsh thrillers, and every Bond movie fan should read them. From Russia, with Love is brilliant, and Live and Let Die is about a zillion times better than the movie. The radio adaptations are, remarkably, just as good. Toby Stephens is actually my favorite Bond after Connery. Most have excellent guest stars (Rosamund Pike, David Suchet, Peter Capaldi, Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina, Joanna Lumley, Jared Harris). And many if not all of them are available for free on YouTube!

I can’t blame your for hating but I will say I can follow the action pretty well which isn’t always the case. So as shaky cam goes I think they did it pretty well. And it has such strong character and plot moments I just can’t possibly ranking it lower than films that we basically lesser remakes of previous films or wasted their plot or were just lazy. And I love having a more breezy action heavy Craig film amount the longer operas he’s done.

This is pointless for me. First get Never Say Never Again off the list because it's not a real James Bond movie. Second remove all the Daniel Craig "Bond in name only" movies. All of the rest are too good to vote for any of them to be removed. I have spoken. Are you being serious? 😂

Round 2 is now closed. Never Say Never Again - 5 votes Casino Royale - 1 vote For the video game scene, and for many other reasons, Never Say Never Again (1983) will never be seeing another round of the James Bond film survivor game. And never again shall I make the mistake of counting it as a Bond film. Onto Round 3: Dr. No (1962) From Russia with Love (1963) Goldfinger (1964) Thunderball (1965) You Only Live Twice (1967) On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) Diamonds Are Forever (1971) Live and Let Die (1973) The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) Moonraker (1979) For Your Eyes Only (1981) Octopussy (1983) A View to a Kill (1985) The Living Daylights (1987) Licence to Kill (1989) GoldenEye (1995) Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) The World Is Not Enough (1999) Casino Royale (2006) Quantum of Solace (2008) Skyfall (2012) Spectre (2015)

Diamonds Are Forever
If you haven't seen this one in a long time, it's one of those you keep wondering if it's really a Bond film and how the hell you forgot it. And the answer is because it looks like a made for TV movie done well after Connery's prime, and absolutely nothing like his From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball heyday. In fact he'd already given up the role once already at this point and he already looks older than Moore here who he's actually younger than.
It's the 7th film in the series and the clear worst to that point.

Back on IMDB on the Bond boards whenever anybody would do a new movie tournament, Casino Royale was always in the final or at least in the top 4, like guaranteed every time. I'm not saying you have to agree with that, but 3rd from the bottom?

I suppose that's the crazy world of ranking bond films, where half the films are somebody's favorite, and the same half are all somebody else's most hated entry. The other half are the one's people have that "ohhhhhh yeah that one" reaction to.

Back when I was watching through these with a high school buddy for the first time I used to ridiculously replace one word in the title with Bond’s name. I shall do that here henceforth...

In fact he'd already given up the role once already at this point and he already looks older than Moore here who he's actually younger than. It's the 7th film in the series and the clear worst to that point. All I really remember about that one is that the beginning was decent, with Bond going after Blofeld (due to what he did to Tracy in On Her Majesty's Secret Service). I liked that. I also remember Bambi and Thumper as well as Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd. This is also the one with Blofeld in drag isn't it? Other than that^ stuff, I forget most of this movie. It's definitely a contender for the next film I'll be voting off. I just really hate that one. I suppose that's the crazy world of ranking bond films, where half the films are somebody's favorite, and the same half are all somebody else's most hated entry. The other half are the one's people have that "ohhhhhh yeah that one" reaction to. I find that's the case with most films. I mean, you'll hear people say "NOBODY likes (insert movie title here)!", but there's usually at least one person out there that likes something most people hate...and vice versa. I myself often like films that aren't that popular and loathe ones that are popular. The MCU survivor game was an example of this. I will say that one movie that's been voted for is my favourite Bond film and it pains me to see it get nominated so early in the game. The way weirdraptor feels about Casino Royale is how I feel about Skyfall (a very popular Bond flick, it seems). That's another example of my 'unpopular' opinion. Back when I was watching through these with a high school buddy for the first time I used to ridiculously replace one word in the title with Bond’s name. I shall do that here henceforth... A View to a Bond I'm quite happy with you doing that, Mr Ackbar. Should make for some interesting/amusing titles. Can only be Live and Let Die Why do you hate my favourite films, Grandmaster?

Just to avoid the inevitable tie I'm going to officially change my vote this round to...
Live and Let Bond
Speaking of which, Trump actually played the theme to this one at a rally last week. I thought that was pretty hilarious. That guy is pure dark comedy gold. 😂😂😂

Just to avoid the inevitable tie I'm going to officially change my vote this round to... Live and Let Bond Ah, but you haven't avoided a tie, Mr Ackbar. After much deliberation, I decided to vote for Diamonds Are Forever (1971). I would've joined you in voting for A View to a Kill...but you changed your mind. So the vote tally currently stands at: Casino Royale - 1 vote Spectre - 1 vote Diamonds Are Forever - 2 votes Live and Let Die - 2 votes There's just under two hours left to go for Round 3 if anyone else wishes to vote.
