Anyone else seen MURDER MYSTERY? I’d never claim it’s, well, good, but it’s better than it has any right to be—and, believe it or not, that’s because of the actors. Sandler and Aniston have good rapport, and their relationship here is clearly based on Nick and Nora Charles. Admittedly, that’s a weird comparison because The Thin Man is light, witty, warm, and wonderful, and this is a goofy Sandler comedy with poop jokes and the like, but that’s definitely what the writers were going for. Unfortunately, the script sucks. Most of the characters get nothing to do (poor Terence Stamp!), there’s only one, Murder, She Wrote-quality clue, good jokes are few and far between. Sandler and Aniston’s acting and rapport actually carry it along, though, and make the weak jokes come off as better than they’d appear on the page. If only they got a better script, because I’d really enjoy a good mystery movie with Sandler and Aniston as these characters. Maybe they can do a crossover with the great Benoit Blanc!

I saw it when it was first on Netflix I agree with your assessment.

"...Amazon is adapting Eoin Colfer's adult fantasy novel Highfire into a series, which will star Nicolas Cage as the voice of a vodka-drinking dragon."
I would expect nothing less.

Never even saw the film. Any good? Really, Yeah, quite good. The sequel Conan the Destroyer is optional viewing. The reboot with Jason Momoa gets a lot of hate and while it isn't good, there's parts of it I liked.

It's an action-comedy and stars Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds. One's a thief, one's a con artist, and one's an Interpol agent (guess which is which).

I'm aggressively ambivalent to Lynch. Granted, I only saw three of his films (Wild at Heart; Dune; and The Elephant Man).

I haven’t seen any of his movies. I do love the original Twin Peaks seasons. But Lynch turned the revival into the most pretentious meandering pointless avant-garde mess I have ever seen. Also, I don’t have Netflix.

My favourite discovery on Netflix so far has been Canadian series Slasher. I almost never gave it a shot after trying the Scream series and bailing after 2 episodes (bad and boring). I thought "yeah yeah it will be shit and will end up in my 'continue watching' list till the end of time." But wow. It's a season-anthology series so each season is standalone, so I didn't realise I was watching the seasons in reverse order: 3, 2, then 1. But I can honestly recommend that that be the order everyone watches it as 3 and 2 are cool but 1 drags a little. It's not bad but it's not as balls out as the rest.

Against the Ice “Game of Thrones” alums Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Charles Dance along with Joe Cole will lead the cast of the survival thriller “Against The Ice” at Netflix.
Coster-Waldau and Joe Derrick adapt the screenplay about a Danish expedition attempting to disprove the United States’ claim to North-Eastern Greenland. The expedition battled extreme hunger, fatigue and a polar bear attack.

In the fourth quarter of 2020, Netflix managed to add a further 8.5 million subscribers even with price hikes and stiff competition, surpassing estimates both within the U.S. and internationally. That brings up its membership to over 200 million worldwide, with nearly 37 million of that total joining in 2020.
Intriguingly the report indicates 40% of Netflix’s ‘new’ members were actually re-subscribers, and rival Disney+ saw a similar 45% of its Q4 subscribers being re-subscribers – many of those likely drawn to the second season of “The Mandalorian”.
This definitely indicates consumers are trying out different services and will cut out and then re-subscribe when there’s new material to watch.

Netflix’s upcoming live-action TV series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed comic series “Sandman” will boast an all-star cast.
New Line, Netflix and Warner Bros. Television are producing what will be the most expensive TV series to date based on a DC Comics property. As we know, Tom Sturridge is taking on the lead role of Dream/Morpheus. Until now though, the rest of the cast had yet to be revealed.
That changed today with the first seven key roles unveiled. Joining the now confirmed Sturridge is Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, Sanjeev Bhaskar as Cain, Asim Chaudhry as Abel and Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne (a gender-swapped Lucien).
The original comic ran for 75 issues from 1989-1996 and began with the accidental capture of Dream, the younger brother of Death, and the journey that begins when he is released seven decades later.
The series follows on from the eleven-hour, twenty-episode Audible adaptation which starred James McAvoy as Morpheus and a cast that included Taron Egerton, Michael Sheen, Riz Ahmed, Andy Serkis and Miriam Margolyes.
That audio release only adapted the first three volumes of the graphic novel series. Now comes word that two more seasons have been ordered and are on the way in the form of “The Sandman: Act II” and “The Sandman: Act III”. No word on the cast or a potential release date as yet.

Jennifer Lopez will star in and produce the Netflix action thriller “The Mother” which has “Mulan” director Niki Caro in talks to direct.
Lopez will play a deadly female assassin who comes out of hiding to protect a daughter she gave up years ago while on the run.
The one is said to be akin to Luc Besson’s “Leon: The Professional” with a script originally penned by Misha Green (“Lovecraft Country”) and revised by Andrea Berloff (“Straight Outta Compton”).
Green, Elaine Goldsmith Thomas, Benny Medina, Roy Lee and Miri Yoon will also produce.
It’s a reunion for Lopez and Netflix with the “Hustlers” actress also starring in and producing the Netflix adaptation of the Isabella Maldonado novel “The Cipher”. Lopez is currently filming “Shotgun Wedding” for Lionsgate.

Netflix and Legendary Entertainment have released a teaser trailer for the upcoming animated series “Pacific Rim: The Black” arriving on the streamer on March 4th.
In the series, humanity defeated the Kaiju long ago. Now, they’ve returned and have taken the entire continent of Australia which has been evacuated and left to the monsters.
A pair of siblings and their battered, long-abandoned Jaegar battle across the vast and dangerous land in search of their parents.
Craig Kyle (“Thor: Ragnarok”) and Greg Johnson (“X-Men: Evolution”) serve as showrunners in this follow-up to the two live-action films from 2013 & 2018.
