I agree with Arch essentially about this film and I came back and watched the trailer twice more after initially seeing it, before I started to react to it. So I am trying to give it a chance but I think the trailer is dull and the end scene where they are all sitting at the table eating or whatever just falls down. Its not funny, its a stupid, flat scene. I wish they would have showed some full images of Kit Harrington as Black Knight. He's the character im most interested in seeing in the film and he's not even one of the Eternals. I think that for people who dont have extensive comic book knowledge and are just strictly MCU fans this trailer tells them almost absolutely nothing about the story, who the characters are, who the villain( villains) is, and there's freaking 17 of them so how the hell are they going to develop these characters with any sort of complete, individual arc, in this film in 2 and a half hours? I think some of the wide, more expansive shots are beautiful and I think this movie will probably be visually appealing with clearly dynamic cinematography. However if that stupid final scene that isnt funny is any indication of what type of movie we are getting from Chloe Zhao then it will end up being a serious waste of acting talent since they honestly do have a talented cast. You know that scene from Tropic Thunder where RDJ is like " you can't go full retard man"? Well you cant go full blown SJW with a Marvel film, or I will skip the next Eternals film. Well I think this will be a very different MCU film from what we have had so far. And its not gonna be for everybody. But its also gonna appeal to an audience that may not be into CBM's or the MCU but will love to see Eternals. Personally I think it looks amazing but I agree it does come accross as dull. That has to do with the music choice and the chouce to show those wide screen visuals Chloe Zhao created. Lets just wait for trailer no.2. That may show a completely different side of the movie and it might appeal more to the general MCU audience. And just be honest. If Eternals wins best picture next year at the Oscars the MCU fandom will hail Eternals for ....well I kinda have to go here.... an eternity.

I also have to point out Guardians of the Galaxy re Eternals. The characters were nicely done. Although I didnt like Drax' being the comic relief in the second film, overall fair imo

I'll agree to the extent that if I wasn't already ready to show up day 1, this trailer doesn't really show me much. It is beautiful, and as an MCU die hard, I just wanted to get a basic vibe and first look at it, so mission accomplished. Buuuuuuuuuut, it's true there isn't any meat here. I can't deny I would have liked an epic first Celestials in action look, the Black Knight, and maybe an overall more Infinity War trailer vibe. In fact, there was so little here, I may even break my first trailer only rule and watch the 2nd one just to get some of that in. I do want to have that excitement heading in. Regarding the ending clip. Yeah I get what you're saying here. My impression is that it's for the super casual fans to basically state, "BTW this is an MCU film if you couldn't tell", because the rest of the cast is so unrelated. I don't think it's something that will overwhelm the film. I'm not even sure that makes the final film. It really just felt like an "in case you didn't know" statement. But like I said, I'm looking forward to more here.

It may be worse than character development. These are immortals. They need something that keeps them going, almost like the Elders of the Universe, including what lead to that interest if you want deep characters. A Suicide Squad WWF intro music with screen writing won't hack it. They may have to take some cues from the Highlander show and lean into the flashbacks, but where's the time for that? They clearly suffer from unknown characters, and the teaser did nothing to introduce them beyond glowy pattern stuff which struck me as D&D weave spellcasting. I continuously doubted, but enjoyed being wrong about, the MCU until Guardians worked. At that point, I ran out of doubt for even unknown characters. My modern theory is you could slap a Marvel logo on a block of melting ice and people would talk about Iceman in the MCU for months. I think the interest and the fans will be there, I just hope they continue to produce quality from unexpected ideas.

So much so that I think I'm actually going to break my 1st trailer only rule this time. The film reportedly covers thousands of years, so they are going to get into the background of these characters, I'm just a bit puzzled why they didn't give a glimpse of really any of that. And I definitely want to see some Celestials in motion.

Why does the sun go on shining? Why does the sea rush to shore? Don't they know it's the end of the world? 'Cause you don't love me any more Why do the birds go on singing? Why do the stars glow above? Don't they know it's the end of the world? It ended when I lost your love I wake-up in the morning, and I wonder Why everything's the same as it was I can't understand, no, I can't understand How life goes on the way it does Why does my heart go on beating? Why do these eyes of mine cry? Don't they know it's the end of the world? It ended when you said, "Good-bye" Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm (Why do these eyes of mine cry?) Mmm, mmm, mmm Don't they know it's the end of the world? It ended when you said, "Good-bye"

At this point after watching the trailer for the Eternals again I have come to the conclusion that only one thing can possibly save this shit-show. Bring back female nudity. In that last scene where they are all sitting at a table eating or whatever and Ikaris makes a stupid ass joke about leading the Avengers, if they just had Angelina Jolie or Salma Hayek pull a titty out it might salvage that garbage. I mean what could be more inclusive then bringing back female nudity in the Marvel movies? I think it would be a bold move for third wave feminism if Brie Larson showed us her flat ass in The Marvels. All the women I know who I have asked about this have told me they like seeing other chicks naked in movies. At this point in our culture in the US in the last 10 years men under 30 at a clip of almost 30% have reported having had no sex in the previous last 12 months. Men in their 20's being still virgins has tripled almost in 30 years. What a surprise, it was about 30 years ago that Hollywood started to phase out sex scenes and female nudity, I doubt its not a connection. In order to save the Eternals and reverse this sexless trend with our young men I believe we need more random titty shots like the one in Suicide Squad. You can respect women and want equality and still enjoy the fact that naked women look fucking great. Grandmaster, Indiana Jones, Chalice_Of_Evil, Lord Death Man, Nightman, anthonyrocks, AQUA KEN!,

The MCU with its sexless films and Brie Larson’s pathetically inadequate buttocks is indoctrinating Generation Z and turning males into impotent drones in an effort to support the Marvel feminist agenda. I am intrigued by these ideas and I’d like to subscribe to your newsletter. In fact, one of our own has already been taken… do what you can to save him… sakaar.freeforums.net/thread/592/brie-doesn-ass

Oh, Jeff... You son of a bitch. Hee hee hee... Do not let these doubters dissuade you, Jeff. We have all seen the statistics. Did you know that 1 in 4 men over the age of 79 have erectile dysfunction? 1 in 4! That’s up considerably from the time when data didn’t exist. And we all know the reason why. Now there’s supposedly a new The Eternals trailer tomorrow? Well, I’m hitting the drug store and stockpiling some Viagra. I am going to be prepared for the coming post modern sexual apocalypse. And suggest others do the same.

It may be more accurate it say 25 outings so far plus 4 tv shows? Although I suspect the debate amongst the fandom will heat up as to whether Raimi and Garfield Spidey movies are now technically canon. Maybe even the Venom and X Men series? The McU could instantly be 40+ outings deep! Crazy.
