I haven't even see the first season of this show as yet...but I'm eager to. I have a question: Why do people keep calling him 'Mando' for short if his full name is spelled 'Mand alorian'? Shouldn't it be 'Manda' for short? I prefer "Mandy" So do I.

Saw the first episode of season 2 They just had to do it... Uh oh. This doesnt bode well Oh the episode was awesome. But they bring back a certain dead character back who is a fan favorite. And Im not a big fan of bringing back characters who died. Hopefully they can make it work.

It was a great episode. Not too crazy about the reveal at the end. Guess we'll have to see how they handle it.

I crammed through most of Clone Wars final season in the week leading up to this. There was a chance it was required reading, and I'd wanted to for a while. As exciting as the final season of Clone Wars was, I'm that amped by the potential for this story. I was not expecting it to kick off as it did, and I'm curious where the person of interest is going, but I am thrilled by that shock factor. I assume it's setting up a story element rather than straight fan service. The entire story of that episode worked in favor of that reveal, and was a sensible way of arriving at it. I hope it continues with follow through, but even without it, I don't actually find it gratuitous.

I AM SO PUMPED AFTER S2E1
This is ideal Star Wars to me folks. Exploration and visiting all new corners and people. Visiting old characters in more detail.
That return. Oooooooooh I’ve been dying for that one. Lept out of my seat. This stuff is awesome

If anyone is wondering about Mandalorian info from the animated stuff, this seems to sum it up rather well without having to fish through the series. Personally, I'd still recommend the series, but not everyone has that kind of time.

Are we sure it was Boba? Many clone troopers had facial scarring. I mean, Occam's razor would lean towards Boba, but several clones were without hair where Boba always had glorious flowing locks.

The unit assigned to Ahsoka dropped to Rex being the lone clone survivor in that unit after Order 66. There were some others that had worked on chip removal but I'm not sure of their survival. Plenty remained to serve the empire, but given their chip status, it's doubtful they broke away for any reason short of the rare malfunction. They did age at double rate, though, so it would limit their survival rate and continued presence in the storm troopers after a relatively short window.

Episode 2: Meesa feels like meesa paid no attention to anything to date. Was anyone else left feeling like they had no information regarding most of the talking points of this episode? I'm trying to place the creatures, the pilots, the planet... I've got nothing. Perhaps a light of day rewatch will give me greater insight.

Mmmm Im sorry to say this was one of the weaker episodes, if not the weakest. That's about where I was at after watching it. Another character that barely speaks and a complete handicap of a transport item. A very underdeveloped forced planetary landing and a completely random inconsequential threat. That transport better lead to a strong ROI or that episode didn't deliver anything for me. I do keep thinking maybe there's something about the pilots or their ships. Gold squadron survivors? Watching again shortly to try to glean something worth discussing.

One "bad" episode of the Mandalorian is worth the last four consecutive theatrical Star Wars releases combined. It's a 90s era cartoon turned into a live-action, big-budget TV show. It's what we all wished for as children, and it's glorious. I can't, for the life of me, understand why people believe this opening round of Star Wars content on Disney+ is somehow lacking. As pure spectacle, the show is genius. Why it has to be Kubrickian-level genius escapes the fuck out of me.

It looks and feels like peak Star Wars to me. Yes there are no light sabers and stuff but that was never Star Wars to me. Its about light vs dark. Both on the greater scale of things as well as within the characters. And thats absolutely there. And its packaged within a great western/action/road movie vibe. The last episode wasnt horroble but to me one of the weaker ones. However it was amazingly funny and that made up a lot.
