A Hammer Horror-inspired film about Mr. Sinister when he was still just Dr. Nathaniel Essex. It's set in the five year time gap in "Endgame" and mankind is suffering. Dr. Essex has concluded that humankind must evolve or it will die, so he gathers promising Mutants and begins experiments to further their evolution in his private lab in the massive cellars of his mansion. He also experiments on himself and looks progressively more and more like the classic Mr. Sinister as the film goes on. Although his intentions start out noble, he becomes more and more power-hungry and maniacal as the film goes on and he goes to greater and greater lengths to keep his research secret when rumors about him begin emerging all over. It culminates in his secret being exposed and the classic "villagers with pitchforks and torches (and likely guns since this is the 21st century)" third act with them laying siege to his mansion. His experiments escape and head into the hills while Dr. Essex seemingly dies, but a post-credits scene sees him emerge from the rubble in the mansion with the ghostly white skin Mr. Sinister is known for.
My chosen actor for Nathan Essex/Mr. Sinister: Peter Capaldi.

Rogue (though they'd probably have to give it the movie a subtitle, as it wouldn't want to be confused with the 2007 Australian independent horror film about a giant, man-eating crocodile that stars Radha Mitchell and Sam Worthington). www.imdb.com/title/tt0479528/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_10I want to see her with her full powers, flying through the sky and punching out everything in sight, damn it!

My chosen actor for Nathan Essex/Mr. Sinister: Peter Capaldi. Essex is a great option, Capaldi would be an intriguing take. As for my own, I think I'd pick Bishop for a Days of Future past ride reminiscent of 12 Monkeys. As for actor, I mean, if Terry Crews can act, maybe. Otherwise, Morris Chestnut or DB Woodside maybe.

Oh, wow, that would be a very different MCU film. I like it.

It's funny Ive watched some of the series but not the film with Bruce Willis. Great choice. Although I dont see Capaldi as Essex, the old dr who guy right?

The fractured mind aspect of Bishop doing micro-hops without clearly remembering his mission while spotting, maybe even without recognizing, X-men and Brotherhood, in an attempt to stop an assassination that leads to government hunting of mutants would be a potentially crazy one off film and the resolution would leave the audience wondering if he succeeded or failed. It's a fairly naturally overlapping story with the 12 Monkeys film, that could span several decades and show a lot of the history. They did a very similar Days of Future Past run in the 90s X-Men cartoon with the rocking theme. Seeing it on film in a way that fits the MCU would be a lot of fun.

Although I dont see Capaldi as Essex, the old dr who guy right? Capaldi did demonstrate early on, as the doctor, his ability to show both spontaneous outrage and a distraction from the present as his mind processed endless possible outcomes. Sinister also has age reversal and image shifting capability that could remove the need for the older Capaldi to remain the actor beyond the origin. As I recall, Essex was a near Darwin era scientist who tested his experiments on himself in an attempt to evolve humans. Capaldi could likely pull off the crazed inventor striving to save his own brilliant mind for the future, but clearly a more venomous voiced, younger actor would be needed for young and empowered Sinister.

As much as I loved Hugh JackMan in the role I think his solo movies left a lot to be desired. So I wouldn’t say no to a new Wolverine solo franchise.
