As always I remember very little of my dream. I think there had been some sort of disaster (whether it was natural or man-made, I don't recall), and as always seems to be the case in these sorts of situations...grand theft auto felt like the best option for escape. Unfortunately, the vehicle I'd stolen had an extremely stiff steering wheel and consequently I was all over the place (due to the delayed reaction the car was having to my turning the steering wheel furiously) and not really getting very far. I blame the show I'm currently 'binge-watching' on Blu-ray - Fear the Walking Dead - for this dream, as they seem to do a bit of car-stealing in that.

Not too exciting, but it amused me: I had a dream last night in which I’m flipping through a calendar and see the word “Halloween”—on Sept. 9.
So I flip to Oct. 31 and it says “Last Day of October.”
At this point I’m starting to feel like I’ve crossed over into another universe, and I start quizzing people: What day is it on? Have they changed it? Maybe because of corona?
Finally I somehow figure out it was a typo on the calendar, and the company starts apologizing. Too bad: universe-switching in dreams would have been more fun.

My latest dream featured Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn fighting herself (also as Harley Quinn, but dressed like a female version of Robin for some reason) Super Smash Bros-style.
When I woke up, I had Salt-N-Pepa's 'Whatta Man' stuck in my head, so that song may well have been playing as Harley was beating up other Harley.
In a very rare occurrence, when I went back to sleep there was a slight 'connection' between that first dream I had and my next one, as the second dream involved me going to a newsagent and wanting to get a magazine with Margot Robbie on the cover. For some reason, though, I didn't want to buy it myself and was trying to convince someone else to get it for me. That's all I remember.

This morning (7/9/20), I had a dream in which my best friend is leaving for the country he’s now attending grad school in in real life. In the dream, it’s the day before he’s supposed to leave, and we want to do something together. We go out to a beach where the waves crash over the boardwalk, and then we go back to my house (apparently—doesn’t look like it).
There we meet a very pretty girl with flaxen hair who’s apparently a princess! She tells us there’s a buried treasure in my basement. So we three go down there and end up in a long stone hallway that looks like the queue for Disney World’s Pirates of the Caribbean ride. At the end is a wooden chest, but when we open it we see not treasure but a jump rope, board games, and keys.
We take the keys (one of which has a square on the end where the “teeth” would be), walk to the end of the hall and turn the corner, and go over to an old-fashioned washer-dryer. My friend is trying to figure out how to put the square-key in and gets frustrated; I eventually figure out you have to push some buttons and put the square-key in a bottom slot.
I don’t know what putting the key in actually does, but I think it made the washing machine swing out, a trick door to a secret passageway. Before we go in (or anything), though, I say to my friend, “Do you have to go?” He says, “It’s not till later tomorrow. We can keep looking now.”
Soon after that I wake up—both excited and, more than anything, sad. For some reason I feel that I’ve forgotten a part of my life, a Goonies-esque adventurous part. I want to keep searching, I want to meet the girl, I don’t want my friend to leave.

I only have very vague memories of my latest dream. What I do recall is that it featured Australian actress Sophie Lowe (who I just recently watched in the 2009 movie Beautiful Kate). She was atop a windmill or lookout tower or something in the middle of a grassy area (probably a farm) and there was this army of abnormally-sized (gore-free) eyeballs rolling around on the ground, I think. There also seemed to be a yellowy brown/old-timey filter over everything. Yes, pretty random (then again, so are most of my dreams).

About the only thing I can remember from my latest dream was that it involved Emily VanCamp...and, honestly, that's all that really matters.

I had a dream that a giant, cheese-flavored snack food was trying to destroy the world.
Or maybe I was just watching the news.
I don't know for sure but it left me in a cold sweat.

Friday night/Saturday morning I had a dream in which I was attending a taping of the TV show Penn & Teller: Fool Us. (Best magic show on TV. I know that’s not a high bar, but still.)
One of the contestants was (get this) Gene Wilder! No, I have no idea either. Wilder was playing Willy Wonka again and dressed up in that costume, and he had a ‘Wonka-made’ machine on the stage that supposedly let him do the magic. He did multiple tricks, but the only one I can remember involved shooting a tin can (or something like that) with a gun, which made it ignite. One trick seemed to go wrong, but really it was part of the act. At one point Wilder/Wonka climbed a staircase and opened his mouth, and the music started into “Pure Imagination,” just for him to burst out with “Edelweiss”!
Unfortunately I don’t think Dream-Penn-and-Teller ever got to give comments or anything, though I remember Teller speaking during one part of the trick, and I thought, Oh, that’s what he sounds like!
After a while (it was a long trick, and a much longer act than PT:FU would actually have), I realized in-dream that Wilder was dead, and that’s what woke me up.
Really can’t explain it. Such a weird dream even by my standards.

I had one of those dreams where I "remembered" ( in dream ) the events of a previous dream, then those memories triggered memories of the dream prior to that one. Serialized. AQUA SALZ! knows what I am getting at.

This morning (9/26/20):
I’m at a French train station that is not a train station and not in France. You can get there by the New York Subway, and it’s an airport, even though it has trains and no airplanes. I’m there with my uncles and my cousin. Everyone, alas, is still wearing a mask. I turn away from my family, walk past a corner drugstore, and enter a small café. My friend, who is attending graduate school in another country and can’t come back home because of COVID-19, is there.
I’m amazed; I say, “How did you come back?”
He says, “Well, I have to learn how to dispense medication, and I’m only allowed to learn it in this airport.”
That makes sense to me, and I’m just happy he’s back.
I say, “It’s weird, you’re not just on the computer screen anymore, you’re actually here!”
He says, “I’m real, I’m here!”
Waking up to find that wasn’t true was pretty sad.

As usual, my memory of my dream/s immediately started to fade as soon as I woke up, but from what I can recall I was first having a dream involving me staying with relatives (pretty boring), but then things suddenly changed completely to a dream about Jodie Whittaker's 13th Doctor from Doctor Who staying with a family in a town which I can only describe as being like the sort of place in the Venice you see when on a gondola ride (it was either that or Laketown from the second one of The Hobbit films). Anyway, the Doctor had befriended the young daughter in the family (whose mother was somebody important like the Mayor of the town or something like that, and she was away at some important meeting, I think) and for some reason one of those Crystal Foxes from, Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi was wanting to stay with the family. Obviously the daughter knew her mum wouldn't be on board with this, but after a conversation with the Doctor (because of course the Doctor can speak Crystal Fox), I think she was going to sneak it in while the mother was away.

All I can recall from my latest dream was someone saying something about how Buffy could come up with ideas/plans when wearing a scarf...but couldn't do so without it. The last thing I remember before waking up was me asking something like, "So...the scarf gives her ideas?".

So, utterly out of the blue, Heath Ledger’s Joker popped up in my dream last night/this morning.
I am at what looks like a mall food court. I have to buy ice cream for the family, and the place has two ice-cream shops. One is Ben and Jerry’s, which I know everyone likes, but for whatever reason I decide to look at the other one. I go the end of the counter to look at all the flavors, and then I hear someone say, “Oh no, look who it is.”
“It” is the Joker, who is in the hallway that connects both ice-cream places. He’s talking with all these children and showing them coin tricks. He’s making his way up to me, showing the same magic trick to each person. Finally he gets to me and looks at me. I’m scared for some reason and think, Isn’t he dead? Then he walks away.
There was more to the dream, but I can’t remember much else. But, if you ever wanted to know what happened to the Joker after The Dark Knight, now you do: he showed magic tricks to children in ice-cream parlors. How the mighty have fallen, eh?

Last night:
I am driving to upstate New York to meet with my uncle and cousin, even though where we are doesn’t look like anywhere I recognize. The town in which I meet them is snowbound, with only one road leading in or out; as I’m driving in I see a covered bridge, over a frozen river, off to my right. There is a large camping/antiques store to my left. I pull into a gas station, where I meet uncle and cousin. The scene around us changes: the season is now summer, and we are at a beach. The gas station is the same, though. My uncle gets out of his truck and tells my cousin and me that he has invented a new type of gasoline that lets you go to a parallel universe. I wonder if, in a parallel universe, COVID-19 never happened. Then I wonder if we’d be bringing it to that universe, and I think we should get tested before we go. But we already have gone, and the parallel universe doesn’t look any different from the real world. I never find out whether or not the pandemic happened there.

I most recently had at least three separate dreams in a row (I don't sleep for very long before waking up and then going back to sleep - I do this multiple times through the night/early morning). One of the dreams I've forgotten. Another one involved Jessica Rothe from the Happy Death Day movies, AQUA SALZ! . You know how they don't actually show her grisly deaths in the films? Well, in my dream unfortunately I was subjected to seeing her actual gruesome demises. The only one I can recall was her ending up on some kind of conveyor belt and going into a meat grinder of some description. Not very fun. My third and final dream involved Col. Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) from the TV series Stargate SG-1 encountering a lion for some reason (it may have something to do with me recently having watched a video of a lion not responding well to people looking at it, which was posted on another forum).

I'm glad they're not gruesome. I know a lot of people seem to believe 'horror' films require blood/gore to be 'entertaining' or whatever, but I've always been more fond of the 'psychological' type of horror anyway. Coming up with gory deaths is the easiest thing ever. Managing to be scary without using that crutch is trickier, but if pulled off successfully, can be much more effective/rewarding. I hope to have a more pleasant dream featuring Jessica Rothe in the future.

I had this super random and oddly vivid dream the other day, where I was riding around in a car with some bushy haired kid who was some kind of reporter? IDK, but he kept insisting we were going out to interview Dr. Dre. So we pulled up into this very ordinary neighborhood with decent but older houses, and this rather large figure in glasses and a hat is mowing his lawn to the left of the cul de sac. The guy I'm with gets out and approaches him. I stay by the car feeling awkward as shit that we just showed up at Dr Dre's house. But sure enough I see the lawn mowing dude stop, and reluctantly shake bushy hair's hand. He takes off his glasses and low and behold it is Dr Dre,,, but, it's that other Dr Dre, not the Snoop Dog Dr Dre. Soooooo I'm wondering what the hell's even happening now, and just follow them through his yard, which includes a remarkably massive 3 story open shed of used commercial washer's and driers. No idea what's going on. We walk around to the back of his house and go inside a remarkably messy kitchen area and sit at the table. Casual conversation starts happening, still no clue what it is we're actually doing there, but he invites us to dinner, and that's about it.

My friend and I are journalists investigating a military service academy—the reason we’re sitting in the school’s auditorium, watching its induction/orientation session, grinning for some reason with the knowledge that we’re incognito.
We’re oh such good investigators that we leave the auditorium we’re supposed to be investigating and walk to the gymnasium to play basketball with some of the students. The gymnasium has gigantic objects that resemble hay bales in the middle of the court, so large as to reach the ceiling.
I get talking to one of the cadets, an attractive girl about my age. I ask what her name is; she tells me it’s “Alex Trebek.” I say, “Like the host of Jeopardy?” and she sighs and says yes. I get the feeling that everyone asks her that. Instead of calling her by her name, I call her “Chris” the entire time.
We never actually play the game because the basketballs are all deflated. I pick up one, and Alex/“Chris” says, “We call that one ‘The Brick.’” I find out why when I go to bounce it: it falls like it’s made of lead.
I tell myself I have to get “Chris”’s number; I hand my phone to her, and she puts it in, but I call her “Chris” again and she sighs.
______________________________________
When I woke up, still half-in-dreamland, I checked my phone for her number—at first under “Chris.” Even in dreams I can’t get names right.

So, my dreams have been getting increasingly apocalyptic lately. I really don’t know why, because—consciously at least—I’m thinking positively because of the vaccine news. Gah.
Last night’s takes the cake.
I’m on a train traveling to New York City, where I’m supposed to meet up with my uncle and cousin. We pull into a station, I look out the window, and someone standing near the tracks in the distance suddenly freezes up and falls on to the tracks. A train comes by and runs this person over, and I avert my eyes.
The reason is that a new disease is going around. It has no obvious symptoms (coughing, sneezing, any of that), so you never know if you’re passing it on to someone else. But when you get it it causes you to freeze up like a statue. When I got on the train, everyone was fine. By the time I get off, half the people aboard are “frozen,” some right in the middle of talking.
I get off the train. The city is deserted. Cars are abandoned in the middle of the streets. Animals are wandering through empty buildings. Birds are flying overhead.
I meet up with my uncle. My cousin can’t make it. My uncle and I get in his truck. We’re now at a rest stop north of NYC. At first the rest stop looks deserted. We find an apartment within the rest stop. Scattered around are tons of books about birds. I realize that this disease was caused by birds, so I grab a pamphlet on herons so that I can have some idea of how to stop the disease.
I leave the apartment and find the person who owns it, who’s unfrozen. He talks to my uncle for a while about diesel engines. I see some kind of amusement park behind the rest stop.
I woke up after that, but the apocalyptic imagery really got to me.
