I wish the trailer didn't use the same song used when Silk Spectre and Nite Owl banged. Lovely song, but I didn't need to be reminded of that hilarity. Proof that Snyder has no self-awareness. I thought directors didn't cut trailers. It would be kinda funny if the people who made the trailer had never seen Watchmen, so were unaware.

My next thoughts when watching the trailer (after "Nite Owl and Silk Spectre ll's sex song!"):
It looks like they improved Steppenwolf...but Darkseid leaves a lot to be desired.
It's nice Kiersey Clemons will finally get her Iris West scenes included (poor Shailene Woodley wasn't so lucky with The Amazing Spider-Man 2).

Uh huh... Is there a new retro-themed Injustice game coming out soon. I thought it was an odd choice to just have Darkseid only angrily swinging an ax. Like think about the first introduction to Thanos in the IW trailer. It was all about showing that he was going to be a badass. But this JL trailer, you wouldn’t know Darkseid was anything more special than that cave troll they fought in Fellowship of the ring. It almost makes it look like he shows up only at the end for a big final extra battle and that’s all you get.

I think this shot of Darkseid replaces one of Steppenwolf performing the same action with a similar weapon. Apparently, Snyder had always meant that to be Darkseid. Both the Darkseid and Steppenwolf character designs are atrocious. I could forgive the low-quality graphics if the costume and character designs had any redeeming qualities. It seems that Snyder really wanted to rush to get the uber-villain in front of audiences rather than rely on a Thanos-style build-up. That's a valid creative choice; however, if you decide to go in that direction, the villain should cut more of an imposing figure, IMO. To the degree that one can be wrong about a director claiming that a largely incomplete film was complete, I admit that I was wrong. Snyder fans will soon get their four-hour alternate cut of this movie - and their vindication as well (such as it is). In the final analysis, this cut feels superfluous in the wake of DC now finally staking their claim to a multiple-worlds-based cinematic universe. Does Snyder's pocket universe really count for anything anymore?

All of this grandstanding over a few new shiny bobbles from DC Fandome? Let's see, we got another Nolanized Batman film - heat and serve. Yum, yum... There will never be a non-Nolanized Batman film. The bar for Batman films has been set, woe to the director, who attempts a surrealist, gothic fantasy. She'll be flayed alive. But here we are for another round of grimdark face-acting - hard eyes all the time. We got a look at a new costume for the Flash. This happens nearly every season on the TV show. And guess who's coming to dinner this time. Twice! His pointy-eared majesty will be there not once, but twice. Dwayne Johnson basically told you he plans to play himself in the Black Adam movie. Good luck if you love Black Adam and hate the Rock. The single most self-indulgent director in Hollywood working today is releasing a four-hour cut of his comic book movie on a streaming channel. Now Snyder can place himself in the company of Sergio Leone. Will Darkseid smoke opium at the end of the film and get lost in a reverie of planetary conquests past? Bwahh, Bwahh, Bwahh, Bwahh... Michael Bay - I release you, Sir. And then that leaves us with the Suicide Squad, the only offering in the bunch that even feels mildly original, and has any reverence for the genre and source material. And Marvel is over. Nice. Real nice, guys.

A lot of people, even those in the DCEU camp, have said, "Well, maybe we wouldn't be jeering if Marvel would just release an 'Eternals' teaser." ...These people have subconsciously put the "Eternals" on the same level as Batman three times over, The Flash, Wonder Woman, The Rock as Black Atom, Snyder's "vision", and James Gunn's "Suicide Squad". If a trailer for The Eternals by itself is considered to be enough to tip the balance back in Marvel's favor, then they've just told Disney and Marvel that their brand is still white-hot, even in the face of a monster trailer-dump by the competition.

Marvel wouldn't be "over" if no one cared. I predict a dumbo drop of content and new promotional material by late Fall. It will be a hard reset for Marvel that takes them in a new direction. Does everyone think they've just been sitting on their hands? You'll be choking on Marvel content by late October / early November. I admit the drought has been challenging, but if you bleed for it - this is nothing. They film 30% of a Batman film, and they have enough to put out a polished trailer like 20 minutes after. What does that mean? The hunger is real, and so is the formula. And I forgot about Wonder Woman. I mean, I totally forgot about it, and it looks so not for me; I literally can form no words to comment on it. Do you think WW84 will have to live through months of a third-act rubber-man scandal like Black Panther? Just dropped in (to see what condition my bad CGI was in).

Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill to Reshoot Justice League Scenes for Director’s Cut
By Ale Russian September 24, 2020 12:06 PM Zack Snyder is working hard to give fans the best version of Justice League.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director is set to bring the major cast of the 2017 blockbuster back for reshoots in October in order to complete the upcoming Zack Snyder's Justice League. The director's cut will now debut as a four-part limited series on HBO Max next year. The reshoots will reportedly bring back Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Henry Cavill as Superman.
In May, Snyder announced his cut of the 2017 film would be debuting on HBO Max in 2021 after a relentless fan campaign asking for his version of the film.
The difference in edits of the superhero flick happened after Snyder stepped down as director from the film following the death of his daughter Autumn, with Joss Whedon stepping in to finish the movie. Autumn died by suicide at age 20.
“I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality,” said Snyder.

The only movie I'd really be interested in seeing an alternate cut of would be Rogue One. I know they changed the ending, for example (and there were shots in the trailer that weren't in the movie at all).
