I'm fine with decanomize the Netflix series if it means Iron Fist gets a fresh new start. Easily the worst of the Netflix shows. I think that’s the beauty of where they left off. They can easily do an entry level story right from where they left off. They could even recast Finn if they wanted to and still easily easily easily leave everything open to loose cannon.

I actually thought the second season of punisher might have been the best. His interactions with Punisher and where they left that character were some of the best things I’ve seen in all of Marvel television, and it probably had the most interesting and terrifying depiction of The Hand as well. It’s pretty damn good

Honestly the show was overhyped. First season was great but the rest not as much I agree the show was overhyped. I not only hold the 'unpopular opinion' of liking the first season of Jessica Jones better than the first season of Daredevil, but I also actually prefer Season 2 of Daredevil to Season 1). I actually agree. Jessica Jones is really really really good and DDS2 has some absolutely excellent character work. I think there’s a bit of a cliché expected answer afoot here but your assessment is quite honest and valid.

Maslany in fact is openly lobbying to appear in the Daredevil reboot, as she revealed in an interview with THR. See her remarks in the space below: I keep texting [Charlie Cox] being like, “Am I required for set today?” And he says, “We’ll let you know by lunch.” But he just keeps putting it off. I’ve been waiting outside the set in my She-Hulk costume, so just put me in, coach.

Agreed, your Lordship, but we shouldn't be dismissive of our more 'literal' brethren in the fandom. They see the same actors, locales, codenames, and costumes crossing from one universe into the next and, perhaps even understandably, become confused. The typical fandom acolyte is easily unsettled by rumor and speculation. Anything that isn't nailed down in canon has one million different yet distinctly possible explanations. Put simply, we can make whole other universes based on the gaps in the MCU canon. While you certainly can choose to believe what you want concerning canon, that doesn't change Marvel Studios' position. Kevin Feige and co. have all but openly declared that the Netflix universe is not and never was a part of the MCU. The only reason they don't come out and say plainly is likely not to draw the ire of nostalgic Netflix/Marvel fans (of which I am one). Their position also flies in the face of the Netflix show's origins that stated they were an official part of the MCU canon. It's an incredibly thorny issue that wants to have a simple answer, but it never will. On another board, I'm having a bitter debate with users who think Disney+ has yet to create anything close to the quality of the least of the Netflix/Marvel series. Once more unto the breach… This will absolutely be the case. The people who don't follow interviews, youtube breakdown videos, or just generally dont have their finger on the pulse of the MCU as its flowing will understandably be confused when they don't see Deborah Ann Wolfs Karen Page or Elden Hensons Foggy Nelson or just blatant contradictions from this new Daredevil to the netflix series. People like us will be fine...but there will undoubtedly be some confusion out of the gate. The most confusion seems to be coming directly out the MCU headquarters.

Online scooper Daniel Richtman has claimed that Daredevil: Born Again will likely still be TV-MA even after Bob Chapek's ousting.

I just wish they continued his own series. I remember we all had that discussion here when it was cancelled. Some crap about politics or something.

Maybe even have him transition into a woman and document his struggles with gender dysphoria 😱

I’ve never been on team “there must be blood and crazy violence”, even for punisher honestly. I think they can do it. But either way I just don’t understand not using the well done origin they already have sitting there.

Not in my eyes or the eyes of the fans, but the kind of people that are catered to these days. The type of people that complain about toxic masculinity, guns, etc.. I would take it a step further but I don’t want to get too political here

The role for Vanessa Fisk has been recast. So if there was still any doubt.... The Netflix shows ARE a different reality.

So are we supposed to disregard anything that came in the Netflix show? Or no? This hurts my head thinking about this.

My guess is don’t worry about it too much. However they may tweak the character it won’t be too far off. I would forget any cliffhangers from the Netflix show tho. I don’t remember if there were any but I wouldn’t assume that stuff would continue.

Heard about them throwing DD in the trash and starting over.
Not a good look for them at MCU HQ. I guess on one hand I’d rather they make sure the product is quality before they serve it up to this fan base so that we don’t get another secret invasion or she hulk…but it’s a bit baffling to me that they could find themselves in this position when all they had to do was copy the formula Netflix had already set in motion regarding a DD tv series. It’s hard to feel good about it when it shouldn’t have been this hard from the get go.

Being reported that the Daredevil netflix show is going to be canon now.
It doesn't matter to me much either way, I can overlook any tidbits of difference, but I do think keeping it canon if youre using the same actors is a good idea to avoid confusing some fans.

Here is Campea trying to explain away how he's been wrong for quite some time. If you read the comments section, a lot of people are calling him out on it and saying that the show was canon all along. The only question was whether Marvel would ever officially "decanonize" it, which they never actually did.
