Damnit. I still haven’t got on this yet. I can’t believe it It’s coming up on the mid season break. My thoughts are this will be the episode where Jimmy meets Walter White to set up the car wash money laundering scheme. Post this, I hope the remaining episodes are how Gene reconciles his eminent capture by the DEA or the Cartel and whatever happened to Kim once their cover was blown. There’s a 10 minute short out with this season done like a true crime TV series investigating the notorious missing lawyer of Kingpin Heisenberg. Also, we learn that all those episodes where Kim seems to struggle with Jimmy’s immorality are actually Kim struggling with her own. A flashback reveals Kim like Jimmy was a budding con artist as a child.

At this point, we can guess Jimmy is being coerced into becoming a cartel lawyer.

He or Mike might eliminate Lalo, but there’s still Gus Fring. The writers need to give Kim and Jimmy an out as being as criminally heinous as Walter White. We felt compassion for White as human; understood his journey into Hell; and knew Walter had to pay for his crimes at least by dying in the end. But if they are forced into this to save their lives, then that elevates some of their culpability and they have a shot at redemption. Maybe their fate isn’t the same as Walter’s.

I don’t think that’s how it will play out though. Jimmy actually says (unless he was lying) in BB that he doesn’t know Gus. And I think Gus is smart enough not to use him anyway. If they’re forced to be bad that kind of undermines their arc. I really think Kim is going to be irredeemable by the end of this season honesty. And then we will sympathize with Jimmy to a certain extent because he will be a broken empty guy stuck in the only shallow existence he has left.

Even so, I don’t think Jimmy would willing get into bed with the meth cartel. He got screwed with Lalo and had to help him get out on bail. He’s not done a con so craven to equal the coming Heisenberg era. He did cause Chuck to go off the deep end but he didn’t mean for him to commit suicide. He is in denial about it and scapegoated Howard over it. Now Howard is dead and Lalo has a gun on them. Jimmy is connected to Mike and Mike to Gus. The best way for Jimmy and Kim to survive is listen to what Mike tells them to do.

He was well on his way to becoming Saul and then they decided to focus more on Kim breaking bad instead. It is pretty difficult to imagine how they’re gonna complete his arc in just a few more episodes.

Saul Goodman had a plea deal with the Federal prosecutors down to seven years in Butner “country club” prison…a businessman’s pokey with a golf course…but in the end, Jimmy McGill’s conscience took his lumps in maximum security. He’s alive and Kim can visit him as his lawyer.

Oooooooh that was so good. “Whatever happened next, it’s not gonna go down the way you think it is” And I believe him This show might be my favorite show ever. It’s so rich. Predictions are hard. How do the legal and drug plots collide. Where does Mike fit in. And what happens to Kim? Kim seems like she’s being set up to die. So I think she lives, and goes into hiding like Saul does later. I think the flash forwards end up with a happy ending and all of Jimmys paranoia about being found, ends with Kim finding him. And they live happily ever after. I think Howard dies. I feel like he has Jimmy dead to eights legally and the only reason Jimmy gets out of it, is Howard doesn’t realize he’s put himself in danger. Maybe Howard’s play is to expose Jimmy’s connection and this make Howard a liability? Nacho winds up killing Lalo, probably at the cost of his own life, and both Mike and Gus have something to do with the set up around this. What do you think? I think it might be my all time favorite show too. Well- my favorite drama anyway. I would probably put a few comedies as my top 3. But damn I love this show. It really holds up on rewatch too! I’ve seen these seasons like three times! Predictions… I agree Kim will live and will be reunited with Jimmy in the Gene timeline. But… I think Jimmy will then go to jail. Totally agree about Howard. That’s gonna be an intense episode if Jimmy is involved in his death. It’s probably Lalo that kills him. I think Mike will kill Nacho. They’ve been chummy for most of the show so it makes for a powerful resolution and will secure Mike as a soulless button man. Gus will kill Lalo to give him a big badass moment. Of course, this could all be wrong. It’ll be fun to find out! I got most of this right! 😎
