This trailer was a whole lot better than I expected it to be. This line with that avatar… 😂

I’m ready for some Kingpin with his magical pimp cane. In the multiverse somewhere Wilson Fisk wielded the power of Mjolnir... ...assisting babysitters in and around Chicago.

I’ve heard they’re making a point of keeping this mostly unconnected to anything else going on
Anybody have any insight on that or takes?

Damn that was a violent trailer and I absolutely get the reaction that this feels like the Netflix series. I’m for it. I’m glad. I can’t wait. I’ve always love that those felt independent.

I have to say, I love how fickle the "fans" have been. So many of them were poo-pooing this series start to finish and kept going on about how awful it would be.
Then the trailer drops and nearly everyone is all "Oh, I love her I love her!"

Trailer made me excited. Thats all I can say about it

After seeing the trailer, I think "curious" is the right word to describe my level of interest. I wasn't enthusiastic about the character during Hawkeye, and I anticipated her live-action incarnation as being just as much of a gimmick as her comic book counterpart. However, I always felt that the actress playing Echo, Alaqua Cox, could summon a certain stoicism that made her character mildly engaging. She is unique when you look at her in the context of all of the MCU female heroes.

Episode 1...I really enjoyed it. A fantastic fight scene right in the middle is probably my highlight. {Spoiler}Did not expect to see Echo vs Daredevil in episode 1 so that was a very pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the backstory getting us caught up to the end of Hawkeye. I assume the rest of the series will do dips into flashbacks as I know there are more scenes with the child actor who plays Maya. Speaking of...great casting. Older and younger Maya look spot on. I was glad the opening was a story being told. I wasn't sure where that was going at first and was worried they were going to lean into more supernatural elements. It also gave me heavy vibes from the Mahorri story in What if? With the caves of blue tinged water and supernatural native americans. I like Biscuits and Billy Jack. Overall a solid first episode.

Episode 2...Continues the very good. I really enjoy Maya and the expanding supporting cast. Biscuits is my favorite but I like the Grampa a lot as well, played by the great Graham Greene. I also sympathize a lot with Bonnie without having seen a whole lot of her yet. Seems like Mayas plan is to destroy Fisks empire and I guess fill the void thats left. Or she's just super destructive because I don't really see how blowing up Fisks 'former' henchmen would lead them to following you instead. But I expect Maya hasn't thought this all through yet as she seems lash out when emotionally distraught. Finding out your 'uncle' had your father killed is distraught enough I reckon. Very enjoyable train sequence. No real combat but still action oriented. And a warehouse explosion also counts toward that. I'm gonna let the whole Choctaw bloodline, seeing spirit swirly hands thing play out. I have some reservations about leaning too much into the supernatural. I thought the first episodes story was just a story but now there are clearly visions and supernatural elements at play. I would prefer they stay low key but we'll see how that pans out. Anywho another solid episode that escalates the stakes a bit.

Seems like they do some dumb things in this as well and a bit of false advertising-I guess there's a reason why they released all episodes at once. Think I will pause for now until all you guys have finished it at least. I just dont want to be burned again. Then there's a Forbes headline I ran into Glad youre liking it so far though

Spoilers: {Spoiler} Pretty good series. I enjoyed every episode. The action sequences are up to Marvel standards, particularly the train sequence and the roller rink fight, and the action/violence level is definitely above Netflix level. Graham Greene as Maya’s “Indian trading post,” pawnbroker grandfather is hilarious. Both Alaqua Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio are great, and Ms Cox’s acting chops have improved since Hawkeye. However, without seeing Hawkeye or know the part Daredevil plays in her life, it will be confusing. Both Charlie Cox and Jeremy Renner have key cameo scenes in the first episode.
While the crime elements are handled well, as is the family dynamic, but the mystic arts Echo powers I think is played too ketchy. She and Kingpin are locked in a fight to the death and yet her healing powers lets her forgive Fisk and lets him get away because as a child, he killed his abusive father with a hammer…very SlingBlade like. Fisk’s henchman are stereotypes.
I did like how Maya’s deafness is often depicted from her POV, where we hear silence during some of action. Particularly creepy is Fisk’s ASL interpreter always in the background.
It’s just a weird ending, not bad, just huh? Perhaps as a cold-blooded murderer herself, she couldn’t judge him. This continues Marvel ‘s forgiveness and redemption theme.
It appears Fisk will be running for mayor of NYC soon.

I liked the show a lot more than Campea, so there’s that. But it sounded like Campea had a lot of expectations coming in about very specific details that I didn’t. Worth noting he also hated Hawkeye, which I loved, so me and Campea are not always on the same page.
