To me Spider-man Accross the Spiderverse is the best Spider-man movie.

To me Spider-man Accross the Spiderverse is the best Spider-man movie. I saw it yesterday and I wasn't as impressed. The story is unessasarily complicated and the constant "glitching" was not my thing, but otherwise it was decent. I'm not tripping over myself to see it again, though.

I wasnt aware but its part 2 of 3 (at least) Yeah I was taken aback by that lol. It's like whaaat?! Although apparently it was mentioned before with all the Spidey news that it was going to end in a somewhat of a cliffhanger

Great movie. However, just like the previous entry; some of the animation didnt really work for me. For example, right near the beginning where we are introed to Miguel. That Vulture animated aesthetic was painful to watch lol There's a theory that {Spoiler}Miguel could be the villain Morlun or one of those guys but Im not sure it holds too much water

I'm not tripping over myself to see it again, though. Why do you say that? I had a headache when I saw the film, and the intense animated motion exacerbated it. It took a lot of work to be objective. I kept thinking of the double standard in multiverse storytelling films. People typically hate the Marvel and DC versions, citing the concept as a giant storytelling cheat code. Spider-Man does it, and suddenly it's the best thing since quantum-entangled bread. I find Spider-Man's multiverse storytelling inferior to a Crisis or a Secret War. That said, the film is generally good from a dramatic perspective.

Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, nostalgia or not, there's only ever been one Spider-Man.

Late as usual. Loved it though. I had a strong mixed reaction to the end because I didn't know it was a two-parter. It was about as good an experience I could possible hope for in the theater until "To be continued" crawled across the screen and I thought you gotta be kidding me! Oh well. If I'd known going in it would be like this I could have been better braced for it.
Still, I thought it was next level. Just amazing. These are the Spiderman movies right now that are blowing the genre and what's possible with animation out of the water. Worth the wait from the first one although I wasn't really waiting.
Truly, and I know this is a done to death topic by now, but I really understand and empathize with Martin Scorsese for not liking superheroes. If the best version of its kind isn't your cup of tea then that's fine. But when he says superhero movies aren't cinema and then I see movies like this, I kinda pity him. It's not that he'll never give them the chance. I don't care about that. It's that he'll never give himself the chance to enjoy them, and that's sad.
This movie gets all the thumbs up. Two doesn't seem like enough but I only have so many hands!

Just finished this for the first time…really really loved it. I was in awe of quite a bit of the animation. The color palette is exquisite and the variety of styles shown was just so cool to see. The story itself got a lot more serious for Miles than I ever expected. Based on the opening I really expected this to be more of a Gwen story but once the ball is dropped about ‘canon trauma’ being a necessity it’s all emotional Miles from there. I loved his escape from the Spider society. The Spiderman pointing moment was hilarious. As was overly dramatic Ben Reilly. It helped offset the sadder moments with Gwen and the angsty moments with Miles in the second half. The ‘Back to the Future 2’ reveal at the end was intense. Can’t wait to see the finale.

I loved Miles' escape from the Spider society too. One of my favourite moments of the movie was him falling, Gwen shooting webbing at his chest to break his free-fall, and him ripping it off with that look of betrayal on his face. I also loved Miguel getting really up in Miles' face during the chase. The breaks the movie takes to have Gwen and her dad talk across increasingly distance rooms are great. There's a scene I really liked when Miles is web-slinging and his uncle's face follows him along the side of a building, as if it's watching over him. It was so well done. Gwen's story in her world is so much richer than I ever knew. I'm actually really impressed at how well Jason Schwartzman was cast as the voice of Spot.
Incredible I thought. I can't wait to see the finale either. That's a guaranteed theater visit.
