Looks promising. Kind of wish they didn't tell us the killer is targeting people related to the killers because that just gets my wheels turning right away on who it could be.

I haven't seen any of the previous movies. But this does look interesting. Oh i recommend them. Especially this time of year (halloween). The first one is great, the sequels have their flaws but are generally good imo. The first 2 Scream films will be on AMC on saturday. Obviously horror movies on tv will have stuff cut out and altered but its something. They may be streaming somewhere but im not sure.

Well I watched the first two films last night and really enjoyed them. At least I'll have some background knowledge whenever I get around to watching this one.

Perhaps not surprising, but the co-director said that sequels are quite possible in the future.

If I wasn’t leaving for vacation I’d go see this. It’ll have to wait until I get back. Hopefully I can avoid spoilers for a week.

Scream 5 was good. It's got a fair amount of clunky, on the nose dialog and exposition...but for the most part it's the same slasher flick we know and love. They spice some things up and Im not sure it's for the better. I also am curious what other killer(s) they had in mind during the script writing because Im not sold this was the most interesting choice...but I still enjoyed it enough and will surely add it to my Scream collection some day.

Was the movie really that successful/the new characters that popular they thought people would be interested in more?

Was the movie really that successful/the new characters that popular they thought people would be interested in more? I think it was fairly well received...at least in the horror community. Personally I'm all for more sequels....its the spinoff idea that i kind of fur my brow at.

So I watched Scream 3. At first in the opening ten minute scene I was like "how come this has a bad reputation compared to the last two?'. Twenty minutes into it and seeing the Jay & Silent Bob cameo, I was like "oh I see". Overall I didn't think it was horrible but yeah not as good as the first two. I liked the villain better this time. Apparently there was a subplot that was cut from the final product but I liked that there were still hints that {Spoiler} the one Stab 3 actress Angelina (Emily Mortimer) was actually the second killer and in cahoots with Roman (Scott Foley). the one Stab 3 actress Angelina (Emily Mortimer) was actually the second killer and in cahoots with Roman (Scott Foley).

Yea the big problem I had with Scream 3 is the killer reveal had no impact. It’s kind of a problem with most scream sequels tho tbh. They never captured the whodunnit surprise and motive as great as in that original. I will say…Parker Poseys character carried that film on her back last time I watched it. I really grew to love how over the top she was as a second Gale and it propels my rewatch excitement for that movie. I’ll watch them all again during October.

Always found her underrated.

I don't hate the third film as much as everyone else does (nor do I love the second film as much as everyone does). One thing that stands out to me about the third film (other than Parker Posey) is Sidney's nightmare scene. That's the only thing in this franchise that has even unnerved me.

Check out Arquette's full comment below: "I know, it was really sweet to see the reaction of the fans. It was hard. It was a project I really loved being part of. They went off to do number six and I was like, ‘Oh, okay…’ [Laughs] It’s hard. It’s something that’s really close to my heart, but I love how they handled it. I think my character had a really good role in Scream 5 and had a lot to do. That was really nice. We’ll see... "Who knows, anything is possible. I mean, how many movies have Jason or Mike Myers been in? Not that Dewey’s a killer, but there is a coming-back-to-life element within these horror films." screenrant.com/scream-6-dewey-return-david-arquette-response/
