It's a weird opus. It's a cynical 70s cop film disguised as an 80s fantasy film. It puts so much focus on the corruption of those in power in a very 1970s-still-bitter-about-Watergate-and-'Nam kind of way. It was a bizarre meshing of tones, to say the least. Ha, sounds like i need a rewatch! It's interesting, I'll give it that, but ultimately, I don't think it was very good. Take from that what you will. I can see why this was a flop, and I mean this film, specifically. I'm aware most 80s fantasy films ranged from flops to mild successes that did well on video later. For this film, specifically, I think it was a colossal case of "Didn't read the room" with audiences of the time. That, and it cast Peter MacNicol as it's lead role.

Battle Beyond the Stars (1980). The best of the low budget Star Wars knock offs.

Battle Beyond the Stars (1980). The best of the low budget Star Wars knock offs. They used to talk (type) a lot about this back on the old DEFUNCT IMDb boards.

Evil Dead (2013). Doesn't have the magic of the original but still pretty good.

Evil Dead (2013). Doesn't have the magic of the original but still pretty good. Agreed. I think it has some of it's own charm, but I definitely get not being into it.

Pet Sematary Two (1992)
I watched it the second time after picking up the Blu-ray. Obviously it isn’t high art, but I enjoy it. Better than the recent reboot.

I realise I tend to use quite a few GIFs/pics in my posts that I make in this thread. It didn't start out that way, but gradually I've been using more and it occurred to me today that maybe some people found them 'distracting'. Apologies if this was the case for you. So I've decided that with any of my posts that have an overabundance of pics/GIFs in them, I'm going to use 'spoiler tags' for the majority of them. That way those who don't wish to be 'overwhelmed' don't have to see them if they don't want to, but those who do wish to see them can still do so if they want just by clicking on the 'spoiler tag'. I hope this helps.
