So I was given a Paramount Plus gift card which allows me to watch for free for a few months. So I will finally be watching Discovery Season 3 (I'll try to be open minded going in but those first 2 seasons really make it hard)
I will also definitely be watching Lower Decks season 1.
If I have time, I may check out Picard.
I'll let you all know what to think about them ..er, I mean I'll let you know what I think about them after I watch.

So I finished Discovery season 3 and Lower Decks season 1.
Discovery has some pretty good episodes but it is still plagued by bad writing, too many characters and story lines, and it's too pretentious and preachy. Lower Decks is mostly funny and has lots of fun references to the Star Trek universe so it works for what it is.

Paramount Chairman and CEO Brian Robbins has indicated that he and current “Star Trek” franchise creative lead Alex Kurtzman are considering a four-quadrant “Star Trek” animated family movie:
“‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ is still one of the best movies over the past decade, animated or not. It’s just an unbelievable piece of artistry. I went with my whole family and another family and we all sat there with our jaws on the floor. Ultimately, ‘Star Trek’ is about family, it’s about these giant universal themes. Getting to tell a story like that, especially given the level of cinema we’ve already brought to the television show, is a wonderful opportunity. It would thrill me to do that.”

Neither Robbins nor Kurtzman commented specifically on any possible live-action “Trek” film in development. The franchise’s big-screen efforts have cooled with the last film opening back in 2016, but Robbins did talk about Trek’s big-screen future:
“Where we go with the franchise next theatrically is crucial to the health of the overall franchise. There’s no doubt that big theatrical movies are the beacon that ignites franchises. We’re in it and I don’t really have anything to say because I’m waiting for the development to be delivered. I can’t wait to get going on it; we’re not there yet, but we need to get there soon.”

He then confirmed he was talking about what could be the next live-action movie and was subsequently asked if Alex or J.J. Abrams would be involved to which he said:
“We don’t know enough yet. We’re working on several fronts and obviously, Alex is the key for the franchise [on Paramount+]. J.J. has been the keeper of the franchise on the film side. We hope that as a company that we do what’s right for the franchise altogether… There’s a lot going on and I’m just going to leave it at that.
The idea is what do we do next for the franchise that’s going to work for the next five and ten years, not just one movie at a time like Alex has talked about. That’s what we really have to figure out.”

Discovery 401 was terrible.
Easily the worst episode in the series so far.

Discovery 401 was terrible. Easily the worst episode in the series so far. It's competitive with the worst of the entire franchise. A huge WTF. The President is the only thing keeping me watching, she has the least amount of cringey dialogue. And what is up with the music cues on that show? They're overwrought and highly horid.

And what is up with the music cues on that show? They're overwrought and highly horid. Even hers was pretty bad "You're leaving"..."No, I'm not" ... "But it's dangerous"..."No it's not" Admittedly, I'm biased in favor of the character because of the irony of - what appears to be - her mixed Cardassian / Bajoran / Terran heritage. IIRC, last season established that the Cardassians had joined the Federation (by the 31st century), or at the very least, black boxes from their ships were recovered after the burning or whatever it was. That said, the show is so oblivious of its heritage that it refuses to acknowledge the irony of a president who is a descendent of one species that was once a blood enemy of the Federation and another which was prophesized to experience great hardship if it did join the Federation. There's not even a throwaway line about her background or upbringing, but we're treated, in excruciating detail, to the emotional inner life of transgender crew members. This will sound sexist, but it isn't meant that way. I wouldn't be surprised if this new warbly "anomaly" turns out to be tied to the menstrual cycle of a Discovery crew member's distant cousin from another century. If the last McGuffin was linked to a 106-year-old infant's temper tantrums - why not?
