PBS calls for Sesame Street-Muppet Show ceasefire
by Kermit THE Frog
PBS network voiced support for a ceasefire between Sesame Street and Muppet Show on Monday after it at first distanced itself from calls for an immediate end to the conflict, which has left hundreds of puppets soaking wet, most of them on the Muppet Show side.
PBS made the case for a ceasefire in a phone call with Sesame Street's Gordon, according to a source, as water balloons and super soaker attacks barraged the Muppet Show Theater for an eighth straight day.
“PBS expressed it's support for a ceasefire and discussed engagement with other partners towards that end,” the readout stated. “The two leaders agreed that they and their teams would remain in close touch.”
The PBS statement stops short of calling for an immediate ceasefire, though it marks the strongest signal yet that PBS believes the Sesame Street is using unnecessary amounts of water in it's attacks.

Sesame Street and Muppet Show both claim victory as ceasefire holds
by Kermit THE Frog
Sesame Street and Muppet Show both claimed victory on Friday after their forces ended 11 days of water balloon fighting, but officials warned that the water soaked Muppet Show Theater would take years to dry.
After working behind the scenes for days to reach a truce, PBS had received assurances from the relevant parties that they were committed to the ceasefire.
As Muppets began to assess the scale of the damage, one said Muppet Show Theater looked as if it had been hit by a tsunami. “How can the world call itself civilised?” Rowlf asked, standing next to the water soaked lobby.
Muppet officials put theater drying costs at tens of millions of dollars, while economists said the fighting could curb sales at Mr. Hooper's local corner store.

The Muppet Show needs it's own voice - Opinion by Oscar T. Grouch
It was both tense and awkward. But it was necessary.
For the last few months, under the auspices of local interfaith association, I along with other Sesame Streeters, have been participating on Z for Zoom calls with The Muppet Show.
But when we gathered online this week for the first time since the recent water balloon war, the Snuffleupagus in the room was too big to ignore. Instead of focusing on Numbers or Alphabet, the group decided that this session would focus on “F for Feelings” – how the two sides were dealing emotionally.
Chances are we’ll be gathering again in a couple years, neighbors separated by suspicion and distrust, trying to take the first tentative steps toward understanding each other and reaching some tentative form of reconciliation after another round of war that could have been prevented.
