Vazquez is really starting to catch fire this year. Good for her.

I wonder if Sofia Boutella's Jaylah from Star Trek Beyond (2016) will return. I liked her character.

REUTERS: A disgruntled Star Trek fan is seen on his way to the Bad Robot office to express his feelings in a way that he says will be merciful and quick.

I wish Paramount would hurry up and get it together with this project. A new Star Trek movie is long overdue!

I mean it. It was pure Trek. It felt like a long epsiode of the Original series. So to me it was great.

I really enjoyed the reboot series so far. If it’s a follow-up to those movies, I’d be excited.

So, Anna liked Star Trek (2009) - judging by her less than enthusiastic comment about the two that followed it - while Grandmaster liked Star Trek Beyond (2016). I'll just be here in my own little corner, liking Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) the best out of the three. I know, it's an 'unpopular' opinion. I don't care.

And Kirk punching out Khan only to get exhausted while Khan's just standing there. And Peter Wellers.
I liked Star Trek too. They're all decent. The most recent one really is like an episode. I think they even borrowed a scene from the original series pilot, the one with Pike talking about his feelings except this time it's Kirk. The third one had to happen to drive home how far Kirk has come as a captain. I don't recall ever seeing them abandon ship in Star Trek, except that one episode of TNG when the day repeats itself. The time on the planet feels very original series-ey.

Beyond is the best of the 3. Star Trek 2009 is second best. However, all of them have issues.

IMHO The only good thing about Into Darkness was Benedict. It was a rehash of an already established story with things changed around. That is why it was a disappointing follow up to the first movie.

Some good points in this video. It is about movies in general but it uses Star Trek as the main example.

Some good points in this video. It is about movies in general but it uses Star Trek as the main example. The bridge of most modern starships in the Star Trek franchise is as professional as a group of preschool kids at recess. If you think I'm joking, that's almost literally the premise of Star Trek prodigy. Good video - all he was missing was a section on Kylo Ren, the ultimate emo, angst-ridden, sheltered teen wannabe dictator. It's embarrassing to watch him throw tantrums on screen, let alone imagine him as the leader of an entire empire. All I expect him to lead is a school shooting.

It's expected to reunite the J.J. Abrams-Justin Lin cast. Matt Shakman (WandaVision) will be the director.

They've been yanking the fandom's chain on this for so long, I'll believe it when I see it - and maybe not even then.
