Oh I am behind on the last few movies. The tv series is my favorite series ever! Next to Star Trek 👍

Looking forward to both sequels. It’s incredible how the film series became so good after two middling first installments.

The diehard fans of the tv show have and will always despise this movie franchise. I think they did some good movies

Ouch. I haven't watched one of these since MI:2 but even I know that's gotta hurt.
I bet when Tom Cruise was caught yelling on the set, it's because he was afraid exactly this might happen.

I'd definitely watch the more recent ones. They're some of the best action-spy movies we've had in decades. They've surpassed James Bond at this point.

It's hard to watch Bond because Daniel Craig wants out and it shows. At least I thought it did in Spectre. Whereas I really liked Skyfall and thought it could work as Craig's or even Bond's last outing. I can believe Mission Impossible has passed Bond. Bond is tired. The new one, No Time To Die, would be a write-off if Craig hadn't brought Ana De Armas on board.

I am looking forward to No Time to Die. It looks like the movie Spectre could had been, and I don't even hate that movie. It's hard to believe it, but the Mission Impossible franchise has almost completely eclipsed the Bond franchise in terms of cultural relevance. I think a lot of it has to do with the approach and attitude of its leads. Cruise at least manages to muster some level of intensity and presence for his generic superspy. Craig is so decrepit and dead inside that you have to wonder what he's saying to himself to get from one shot to the next. Other than looking appropriately stoic on cue, he brings nothing to the table. He could be peddling fortified wine. Neither of the franchises has anything remotely to do with actual spycraft, but at least Mission Impossible looks like it's having fun getting it all wrong. The Bond franchised feels so labored --- like an elective polisci course you instantly regretted before the 20-page syllabus was handed out.

I liked the 1st, 3rd and 5th of the M:I films - so if that pattern holds, hopefully I'll like this latest one too.

I’ll get to it eventually. I am currently rewatching the 1988 series and then will get to all the movies

I think I'm the only person who liked MI2 I didn't mind it. I liked it more than #4, anyway (which I know is an 'unpopular' opinion as everyone else seems to love that one).

The budget for M:I 7 is reportedly to be as high as $290 million. Dang.

Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson AND Vanessa Kirby? *sigh* I guess I will have to see this movie at the theatre. On the plus side, if the pattern of me liking the odd-numbered films in this franchise continues, as it has done previously, I should hopefully like this one. Ethan and Ilsa briefly look happy together in the trailer...which probably means she's doomed, unfortunately (I guess having all three ladies in the same movies is just considered TOO MUCH awesomeness?). She does look to be rocking an eyepatch at one point, though. I'm amused that they just HAD to include one tracking shot of Ethan/Tom running.

I actually had wondered if Ilsa is in trouble when rewatching the trailer.
