I’ve got a small theory about this one The key is the opening scene showing us how an enchantment looks to the enchantee. 2 similar but different restaurants. Going to watch this again with the question, what exactly are we seeing? Food for thought. It reminded me immediately of the New York shot in the trailers. Side notes. She’s clearly from the future. And you’d die from a drinking game using the word enchant. She’s enchantress or my isnt ArArArchStanton. Why is she clearly from the future? The transportation device? The knowledge of Lamentis?

Contrary to popular belief about me and this site differing opinions are most welcome. I am happy you guys all enjoy it. I just dont. Episode 2 and 3 are not so good. On episode 3: To me it was a filler. I understand the character stuff but thats too little for me to make this show interesting. Is it too much to ask drive forward the plot as well? Its a six episode miniseries. They spend one episode on nothing but a dynamic between two characters (who have little onscreen chemistry btw) which quickly becomes repetitive and boring. And its a short episode. It feels like the episode on the ice planet in Mando season 2 to me. They wrote it in because they didnt have enough material for 6 episodes. At least thats how I see it. I read their lack of chemistry as intended. Each mistrusts the other and is waiting for any opportunity to play them, so there is constant doubt and deceit. With the exception of the ham handed director agenda, I found the episode to build quite a bit on each of them and the mystery of the TVA. We have no idea what was real in this last episode. I'd expect to see several things from each one's perspective in the near future illuminating some deceit we've not been privy to. I can see it from GM's pov too. It was a bit of a bottle episode (to borrow a term from Community ). Instead of staying with the TVA and that course of action, the viewer was transported to Lamentis. Again I loved it. Great world-building, effects and character development. Obviously also some key revelations. Loki turning into a train cop was hilarious, looked so silly. What language was he singing in? Anyone know?

I was surprised by how short the episode was. Anyhow the director confirmed that Loki is indeed Bisexual in the MCU. LOL typical Knight

2nd watch complete! And I think there might actually be a lot going on here.
*Stay tuned for caveats to all of this
But I believe Enchantress just entranced the hell out of Loki and the curious moment might well have been when Sylvie woke up in the train.
Consider that the episode begins by showing us how C20 was manipulated, establishing the delusional state Sylvie can create. She explains this to Loki later, stating that she has to use memories of stronger minds to create a fantasy. And on the train Sylvie gets Loki talking about very personal memories, including his mom and his relationships. She needed that to build an illusion. Right after that, there’s a hard cut to Sylvie waking up in completion of Loki’s request for her to take a nap, with Loki partying. It’s the same type of hard cut that we saw C20 experience during her restaurant illusion.
There is also a possibility that Loki is playing a counter manipulation here, and all in all I believe this episode is worth exploring the subtleties with a fine toothed comb.
But Sylvie also revealed a few other key things as well. When called Loki, she specifically said “Thats not who I am anymore”. I’m adding that to my “She’s Loki Reborn” theory, along with her interest in Loki’s mother as she is so old now she can no longer remember her.
I think this is a much more important episode than it may seem and I expect it to pay dividends.

Now, I suspect once they (Loki + Sylvie) deal with that unknown power behind the TVA I believe thats when soon after Sylvie will be the "bigger" villain whether she's actually Enchantress or not. Will Loki be adequately prepared? Who knows?

Id bet anybody anything she is now. They used the word enchant 100 times and her name is the second enchantress It's a possibility but the jury is still out for me. Why mention enchant so many times? Could go for or against the theory. For example, against, so many times mentioned it could indicate a red herring Thats a possibility. This show seems super wide open. I think I just feel that she is an enchantress at this point to such an obvious level that it would almost seem odd not to make that her character. She also mentioned being far more hedonistic than Loki.

I don’t think so, but she does know about them and has that rabid desire to see the time lords perhaps because like Mobius she never could? IDK

Sylvie has no problem stabbing or burning to death the time cops, who if are other variants and not the soulless creations of the Time Keepers, so she’s a big time murderer…just like Loki. I think it’s important to keep these characters in perspective of what they are: Evil.

Im really disappointed in this show. Solid start, boring and cringe continuation followed by complete filler of an episode. There was nothing in this episode that continued the story. I also didnt feel any chemistry between Loki and Sylvie. I found it utterly boring and annoying. It really needs to pick up in the second half and improve. I’m sad you feel that way because I respect your opinion. But we all don’t like the same things so…. I think this is the best of the three series so far. I agree ep 3 had a lot of filler, like why are two god-like super-humanoids not running to catch the space ship. And then the long walk at the train station…snooze…but overall 3 out 4 stars. I’m assuming since the show was shutdown, then restarted months later under Covid restrictions, this may factor into the production values. I am a bit disappointed an actor of Hiddleston’s caliber is playing second banana to his own character. I want to see him play the Lokii, not other actors.

Sylvie says she’s been having an affair with a “postman” while hiding out in apocalypses directly implying there are other renegade time travelers. The referenced boyfriend could be a messenger working for someone and coming into the same zones of contact as Sylvie. Recall the close up of hands wiring a timedoor bomb in the Roxxcart as Sylvie and Loki confront each other.

I started to wonder if it was one of the other elders of the universe but I don’t see one that fits really.

Laminitis 1 was great, but I did have some minor problems with it. I'll discuss my specific issues on the upcoming podcast.
Now that the show is dabbling in sexual politics/identity, I can't help but wonder about a few things.
It's clear - to me at least - that while she may share her name, Sylvie is not the Enchantress of the comic books. The decision to cannibalize the character for the sake of creating an alias for a non-prime Loki is unfortunate, in my opinion.
One could argue that the path forward with Enchantress was already a dead end, given that DC debuted a character with the same name and a similar theme in Suicide Squad.
"Sylvie" seems hell-bent on distancing herself from her previous identity as Loki. At first, I thought her attitude resulted from her renegade spirit or some form of strident rebelliousness. Who wants to be a Loki in a multiverse full of them? Upon closer consideration, her defiance seems more in line with that of a Wachowski sister distancing herself from a biological sex assignment.
I'm beginning to suspect that Sylvie was born a male Loki and performed a magical sex reassignment to distinguish herself from the rest of the male Lokis.

Interesting I will say I think they can get her back to a more traditional Enchantress although I don’t think they’re apt to show her being as hedonistic as she says she is.

I don't want this to come across the wrong way, but it would be weird if the MCU's Enchantress ends up being a gender-reassigned Loki. I'm okay with a Loki choosing to be a woman, but I see no solid narrative reason for them to want to distance themselves from their identity as Loki. That's a runabout rejection of the character in my mind.

Cobra soldiers were all I could see in those train guards. The shotgun lady reminded me of the Kill Bill shotgun scene, or, more removed, the Young Guns shotgun fight.
