Finally caught ep3. Really really cool. It feels like required viewing and I love that. Like this is a huge moment in Obis life that I never knew I needed to see. I feel the emotion and importance watching it. And Ewan is amazing.
Max and I have a theory working. I don’t think they’ll keep going with 3rd Sister almost catches him but not quite for 3 more episodes and given that Solo takes place before this apparently,,, we’re about to get unexpected help from the underground lord Darth Maul.

The actress who played Tala, Indira Varma, also portrayed Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones.
Ellaria Sand was the paramour (wife) of Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones.
Oberyn Martell is played by Pedro Pascal.
Pascal is in the Star Wars universe as the Mandalorian, Din Djarin.
So my fan theory is that Tala and Din wind up in a romantic relationship in The Mandalorian season 3.

Just playing along...
Fandom Theories...
Does Reva have a personal vendetta against Obiwan Kenobi? I'm gonna buy. Mostly because like Taylor Im gonna take this at face value that Reva is a bad person, but I also believe she's one of the kids from the Order 66 scene, so I do think she is focusing her anger toward Obiwan as a personal grudge due to his failure to protect her and his inadvertent bringing about of Darth Vader and the rise of the empire. I could see her being a twisted, tragic villain. I just hope we start seeing the layers to her character a little clearer as right now she does feel more one dimensional.
Is the Grand Inquisitor not dead? Buy. I've been told that he received a killing blow in Rebels as well so I assume he's at least part cyborg or some other formidable humanoid. He'll probably show up later and try to take down Reva.
Qui Gon Jinn will appear in this series? Buy. Theres been too much mentioned about him both in the Revenge of the Sith ending and in a lot of little scenes in this show. We'll see or hear Qui Gon Jinn at some point in the next three episodes.
Lightning Round...
Is the show adding to the story? I'd say yes. Especially for A New Hope.
More of 5th Brother? He's fine as his current menacing brute. I'm fine with him being that character I just wish Reva didn't have the same type of character so far. They both feel very similar to me.
Do we need Yoda or the Emperor? No. I don't think we need to clutter the show up more than it needs to with old familiar characters unless they add something to this particular story, like Vader does.
Figure skating or emotional content regarding lightsaber fights? Theres a place for both...but the emotional ones are always more memorable to me. I'd say that the Obiwan vs Anakin fight from episode 3 actually feels like a perfect utilization of both. It's the primary reason I think so highly of that film.

Then there's Ben's (Obi-Wan) age in a New Hope. I dunno Merv lol

I was actually thinking they’d just get away from Vader at this point. Like he came, they met, and that was it. Maybe not but I’m not sure they’ll keep up the almost catch him thing the rest of the time, and thus we thought some other player might show up. Kind of like how Cad Bane appeared late in Boba

I know it feels like a real long time but in universe its not that long. I'm mostly just goofing anyhow because their characters were lover in Game of Thrones.

Alec Guiness was 60 when they shot A New Hope. It fits perfectly And yes, the Martel/Sand thing can happen.

Another solid episode. Loved the undercover work. For a minute there it looked pretty grim but not without some loss

Episode 4 was a solid one imo. I liked the underwater empire base. I enjoyed Reva. Tala stole the show for most of it and then Kenobi showing up in the dark room with his blue lightsaber was a pretty cool visual. I have enjoyed Vivien Lyra Blairs acting as Leia for the most part but I did find her a little split in this episode. Sometimes I found her really good and other times her facial expressions fell flat. It wouldn't be so noticeable if we weren't spending a good chunk of time between her and Reva talking and continually cutting back to her during the escape...but I will admit it wasn't that good at times here. As for Reva...I think I'm done waiting for her to become a developed character. She's fine as a Vader goon...but honestly that's all this character feels like to me. There's not much difference between her and Fifth Brother as far as character development and I keep waiting for more layers to unfurl but alas...she's still just a goon. A good goon full of tenacity and ambition and more than capable. So don't get me wrong I don't hate her...I just think maybe I let her get built up in my head as more of a character than she actually is.

I sent to this to a friend and he wrote back saying that they have a “Baby Leia” chase scene in every episode. I can’t tell if he’s joking though.

That was tense, and... freaking grim. {Spoiler} I loved the scene Obi-Wan walking through the "trophy room". The fact a Youngling was down there is just the stuff of nightmares.

Yikes. Some exciting moments in episode four, but overall, a bit of a misfire for me. There were a couple of gags that really strained credibility. First, there is no way for an adult to interrogate a child without it feeling like an SNL skit. That was a cosmic-level lousy choice. I kept waiting for the laugh track to kick in. Imagine if that was an episode of Law and Order?
Second --- smuggling a kid out of the super-secure underwater base in your trench coat like a ham you stole from the butcher shop? LOL!
Obi-Wan's mom at Walmart…

I wonder if they’re gonna do a Baby Leia series. It could be a big hit. She’s the new Grugo!

They could start with a team up show featuring Baby Leia and Grugoo. Then expand to a whole Baby-Verse. Baby Jabba could be the villain.
