If it was any other studio than Marvel Studios I would have frowned. But this must be part of the plan. I dont know them any other way.

Sounds good to me! There's a lot they can explore with this.

Ryan is involved with more MCU related projects it seems
“It’s an honor to be partnering with The Walt Disney Company. Working with them on Black Panther was a dream come true. As avid consumers of television, we couldn’t be happier to be launching our television business with Bob Iger, Dana Walden and all the amazing studios under the Disney umbrella. We look forward to learning, growing, and building a relationship with audiences all over the world through the Disney platforms. We are especially excited that we will be taking our first leap with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and their partners at Marvel Studios where we will be working closely with them on select MCU shows for Disney+. We’re already in the mix on some projects that we can’t wait to share,” stated Ryan Coogler on behalf of Proximity Media.”

Great way to kick off Black History Month. I know that he's working on Marvel stuff but hopefully he gets to create new original stuff as well.

I really need a T’Challa recast eventually

I really need a T’Challa recast eventually I haven't weighed in on this, because I am not really a fan of the character ( I did not see the film ) but I am pretty surprised that they did not recast, and I also heard that Feige backed down from doing so. Almost every other character I can think of, has been played by more than one person. So why is this particular part any different?

T'Challa didn't pass away along with Boseman. Right or wrong, Disney wants to wait some indeterminate amount of time for fans to mourn the loss of Chadwick. The assumptions around this issue are somewhat distressing.

I think you are right that they will recast later on down the line.

I really need a T’Challa recast eventually Too late, I fear. I think these misguided sequels are analogous to when The Office continued without Steve Carrell. Obviously this is a different, much more tragic scenario, but the fact remains that the series will bomb without its star character. Continuing without him is a half measure. They wanted to be “respectful” but didn’t want to lose the cash cow, that’s cowardly and hypocritical. More so, it will doom this franchise because even fans like us will lose interest. And it is likely they will kill TChalla in canon. Unless they say he’s on vacation? They should’ve just delayed this five or six years to a time when a recast would’ve been accepted. Recasting now will be impossible without a reboot.

I didn't watch the Office, but there is a show I loved on STARZ called POWER. The main character ( who died in the finale ) was called GHOST. So now they have a sequel series called GHOST, with basically the entire cast except for him. I hate it, it sucks. I call it GHOST without GHOST.

You can’t just continue on without the main character. Black Panther has the added issue of being unable to make TChalla’s sister the new star. The actress is an anti vaxxer. Disney would be insane to give her more attention right now.

Don’t be afraid to disagree with him- it’s good for him. Marvel has made their decision. T’Challa won’t be recast. Unless we’re talking about a reboot twenty years from now, in which case, that is irrelevant. MCU T’Challa is obviously being retired permanently.

Im accepting of that being the case, but they’ll be hard pressed to ever convince me that was the right decision. I think it’s a complete false sense of what equals respect and honor. I actually find it genuinely insulting to my view of life and IMO it’s a lowest common denominator type of decision if in fact they don’t recast.

But I do agree that a recast was the best way to honor the legacy. What they’re doing now is arguably less respectful IMO. Black Panther 2 should really just be cancelled.

I believe I would prefer that to awkwardly moving on without him, but then it just makes me realize that would be taking it away from the cast and the community and I’m reminded all over again that the only real answer is a recast. Putting on my attempt to understand hat, I believe people think it means Chadwick wasn't important. This I don’t understand. You can recast and still honor and respect Chadwick. It’s not an either/or proposition.
