Will this be the film to save the MCU? I don’t think so, and I say that regardless of how popular it is. It may be wildly popular and that’s great. The key I believe however is it fundamentally doubles down on the not going anywhere in particular aspect that IMO has broken the MCUs momentum. This is why I was saying the multiverse was problematic years ago If by now they had established what the deal was with mutants then they would have established that need to follow this story. But as it stands, the appeal for seeing this seems to be simply the novelty of Wolverine and Deadpool. The IMO more important, what does this have to do with the MCU, aspect is just another ball of confusion.

i have an honest question, and i am not trying to start a fight ( there are a million things i would rather do that fight online ) Q: Why do you like the silly and hyper violent Gunn stuff, but hate the silly and hyper violent Deadpool stuff? I hate the fact these iterations of the characters are being brought into the MCU And the toilet/sex jokes are worse in the DP movies imo. And they get old pretty quick. Besides that, the toilet/sex jokes in the Guardians movies are my least favorite part in them. But at least those films have much more in them than just that. Also just my opinion. As you know I’ve always loathed the idea that everything else just gets pulled in. And it’s actually worse than simply not belonging because now I’m left wondering,,, sooooo is hugh going to be Wolverine now? Are they going to cast another one later? Whats up with Beast? Is any of this related? Are these the Fox versions or some other variant? I can’t derive any excitement out of it at all because it just doesn’t belong and it’s confusing.

The Giant Man skeleton turned base would have been perfect for Kang in Ant Man 3. Innit or it innit?

However, I thought it was too early to do a multiverse story. 2 sagas at least and then do it in the third one. Has the MCU turned into the DCEU? Just kidding Snyder and DC first fans. Almost right? Not that bad yet haha. MCU is still King! But it better shape up soon as the enemy has James Gunn now in charge

Just wanted to say on the record that I personally have never wanted nor expected Deadpool 3 to “save the MCU”. No matter how much I may wind up enjoying it, to put that kind of weight on it before release is bound to end up falling short.
People tried to do it with Multiverse of Madness and again with Antman 3. Neither of those films were the post Endgame launching pad that anyone hoped for. So I’m not really expecting Deadpool 3 to succeed in that regard.
Imo, Deadpool in all medias is best left to the wacky fringe where he can breath free, away from continuity and logic. I don’t even think I’d want Deadpool being the flagship for important catalystic moments of the entire MCU. But if they do decide to have him fix everything…I’d take that with a large grain of wait and see.

There are stories upon stories to be told over there.

I honestly was joking about it saving the MCU.
But at the very least the film is generating hype, so Marvel could at least use some of that.
