For me, it's just that there are decades of characters that need attention before someone who was introduced five years ago, whose books don't sell, and barley anyone likes. There are easily a hundred superheroines with seniority over Riri who deserve to have their story told first. The MCU became popular by going off the beaten path and making untrendy characters into stars. Ororo "Storm" Monroe alone is a million times more interesting and deserving of joining the MCU before Riri. What about Squirrel Girl? With her, she's at least been around long enough to have had a generation grow up with her. So yeah, I'd take her over Riri.

However the reality is that the show is coming out and hating on the show before you have seen it is weird in my pov. And who is to say Storm wont show up first. I have the feeling they will introduce some mutant characters in other properties the next few years before we get to MCU X-men. That is going to be an event and they will build up to that slowly. Okay, there is some bias here on my part. To me, Riri represents a troubling trend that's been going on at Marvel Comics for a while now. Iron Man's suddenly popular for the first time... ever, and how do they celebrate the newfound popularity of one of their oldest characters? By killing and replacing him. Thor is popular with the general populous for the first time... ever, and how did they celebrate that? By taking the hammer and his own name away from him. Captain America is popular with the general population for the first time since the end of World War II. How do they celebrate that? By forcibly making him old, replacing him, and then bringing him back only to make him evil twice in a row! There's a lot of anger for me to let flow under the bridge before I'm ready for Riri.

Everyone gets a car! You get a car! You too! You get a car! Did I just get the same car? I guess so. Wtf Above all, it's just a lack of imagination. They have a lot of other characters just waiting to be used. Obviously major ones too

It never occurred to them to keep Tony AND introduce another gadget-based hero? And there are a ton of unused Norse gods Jane Foster could have taken up the identity of, if say, the god/goddess was dead but their power remained. And Falcon was fine was Falcon.

Most fans hate Riri Williams for one justifiable reason. She was imposed on us as a replacement for Iron Man when he died suddenly in the comic books.
She also has an extremely lackluster origin story.
That said, there are actually things that I found compelling about the character. Riri is a child prodigy, which is nothing new in comic books, but it doesn't make her instantly likable or a natural leader like Mr. Fantastic (or Moon Girl). She's isn't overly charismatic like Tony Stark. Her intellect, which far outweighs her maturity, is an obstacle for her.
She's anti-social and struggles as a result. Her intellectual abilities are just as much an impediment as they are a benefit. Being a genius at a young age doesn't make you into Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting or Ben Affleck in the Accountant. Without extreme discipline and mentorship, that potential is usually wasted. I wish they'd focus more on this aspect of her personality and less on trying to shoehorn her into the Iron Man mythos.
Why is it essential for her to wear a suit of Armor? What does it mean to her? She could probably take on any superhero motif if she tried hard enough.
Marvel tried a little too hard to force the Iron Man/Riri connection instead of developing her as her own person first.
I don't think the character is irredeemable, but she has many weaknesses to overcome.

Riri becoming Iron Heart in and of itself will be a lot more organic in the MCU, because Marvel, Feige, and Downey all signed off on killing Tony in Endgame. In the comics, it was such a blatant "love us, we're PC!" move. Believe me, if it were so organic in the comics, I wouldn't mind.

Morgan is 8 years old. And Pepper all of a sudden being Rescue was the worst part of Endgame to me. She never wore a suit on screen or has shown any interest to do so. To see her show up all suited up in that boss battle didnt feel natural to me at all.

But over all she has hated those suits.

It is movie comic book land after all

Lyric Ross (“This Is Us”) has joined Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos in Marvel’s Disney+ series “Ironheart”. Chinaka Hodge (“Snowpiercer”) serves as head writer and filming begins in June in Atlanta.
Thorne will star as Riri Williams, a brilliant teenage inventor who, in the comics, builds her own version of the Iron Man suit in an MIT dorm. Ross will play Williams’ best friend. [Source: THR]

I think everyone on here has a little bias in them. After all, didn't someone declare that the multiverse would destroy the MCU without having seen a single film to feature multiverse characters?
Then there are the anti-DC people who somehow 'know' any DC film will 'suck' without having watched them. There are certainly those who are biased against Wonder Woman.
We all have a bit of bias in us, whether we're willing to admit to it or not. We like the things we like and dislike the things we dislike, and in some cases will make up our minds without having seen something first (it's the movie's job to change our minds). Pre-conceived notions about things are hard to avoid.

Honestly the only ones I've seen that declare that this series is going to be bad are people who either REALLY hate Brian Michael Bendis or the "Anti-SJW" types who have convinced themselves that this show is going to suck because it's "woke" or some stupid shit.
