Watching some speed skating. Those Dutchmen sure do know their way around the ice rink! Its our national sport. Today is the main distance. The metric mile. 1500 meters. Where sprinters meet long distance riders. It looks like fun. But I could never get the hang of skating as a kid. You ever get in on that action?

You ever get in on that action?Β Yes I actually joined a club in my youth. During one of the end of season trials I actually met Calgary 88 Silver medalist Leo Visser and skated a few laps with him. A year later he became European and World Champion. For five minutes today The Netherlands was leading the medal table for Beijing 2022. We are now in second. We are a proud Orange nation today.

I understand. My feeling now is that recreational activities that could lead to serious injury are not worth doing.

Canβt believe Iβve never commented on this thread
I play a decent amount of tennis. I picked it up in college, so late, and it quickly became a favorite. With work and other things I stopped for years though until recently when I picked it back up as part of a fitness routine. Didnβt know if I could still go or how Iβd hold up but Iβm doing pretty good. Iβm still at mid 20βs level after working off the rust. Thereβs actually a universal tennis rating of which Iβm a 5.5 out of 16. Soooo basically could make a high school team. Heyyy Iβll take that.
Growing up I played a lot of soccer and I mean a lot. I was on 3 teams at once. A rec team, a travel team, and my high school team. Buuuuut I was never making it past that level. I had a good cross though.
And aside from that Iβve toyed around with basketball and roller hockey and billiards and golf. etc. I can play a lot of things competently. Nothing super impressive though lol

There's no excuse for players finding out this way. This reeks of a lack of professionalism.
