Honestly I'd probably put this in my top 5 Star Wars movies. That Darth Plagueis the wise scene is great. Got to agree with this. That scene is so good that it improves the whole movie in my estimation. It’s also one of Lucas’ best directing decisions; most directors would want to show the flashback (“Show, don’t tell!”), but Lucas knows the focus isn’t what the Emperor’s saying, it’s the effect of what he’s saying on Anakin. As in several of the great horror movies, which Lucas is clearly pastiching in this film, telling actually works better than showing.

Like several of the great horror movies, which Lucas is clearly pastiching in this film, telling actually works better than showing. That’s an excellent point. And Hayden actually does a pretty good job in that scene too. His reactions really show his confusion and temptation. It also leaves open the question of whether Palps is talking about himself. We can assume that he is, but he never actually tells Anakin that, and Anakin doesn’t realize it yet, which saves another moment for later: when he actually does tell Anakin.... which leads to more Palpie goodness: “I know you would. I can feel your anger.”

I love Revenge of the Sith. It does have a couple of things that always make me laugh in the climactic fight between Anakin and Obi Wan. Obi Wan says the famous "only a fool thinks in absolutes". Of course both before and after that statement, he himself makes multiple absolutist statements. Second there is the high ground line. They had just spent a lengthy amount of time fighting over under and all around each other in every aspect possible but suddenly being 4 inches up a slight slope gives you an insurmountable advantage?

This is actually mildly explainable through the Saber forms that they practice. They had trained together for years, but practiced different stances and techniques. Obi-wan had advantage based on that difference in that exact position. However, the film did nothing to explain any of this in the slightest and it is, therefore, a garbage scene. The idea kind of being that Kenobi had lucked out against Maul with a similar move and spent years figuring out how to have done it better, and the myriad of defenses Maul could have slain him with. Reliving that moment had given him years of experience for that one sequence.

Only a SITH stands corrected! The dark side is strong in this one. I can't help it, I have a thing for black capes.

Oh man I got lazy and forgot about this thread.
3) Return of the Jedi
I could elaborate on why I believe this one is an underrated classic, but I feel like all I need to do is post this... Because I think these scenes alone put this one above every other entry. Pay special attention to the emotion of the final confrontation at 3:15. Amazing.
Nuff said. Also, Admiral Ackbar is in it!
